You make it sound oh so civilised. No doubt the tenants went as soon as they were able to find alternative accomodation rather than end up homeless courtesy of the minister for homelessness.

No one was “kicked out”

Depends on your definition of being kicked out. There are thousands upon thousands of tenants that start on a fixed term shorthold tenancy agreemenst, usually 6 or 12 months, and then continue to live in the rental property for years sometimes decades after the end date. They are usually good tenants that pay their rent on time and don’t trash the place and so the landlord is quite happy and so are the tenants. Seems the £700 per month extra was what motivated this dodgy landlord, getting it upped before the Renter’s Reform bill becomes law and then increases will be capped.

I note you think she should resign for doing something that is not illegal.

Ah right, many an MP have resigned for doing things that are not illegal but were indefensible, suppose it comes down to one’s moral compass or indeed lack of one.
