The Polish pilots made a crucial contribution during WW2, as did their troops, especially during the fighting for Monte Casino in Italy.
We should also remember the reason why the UK entered WW2 and endured 6 years of war, ultimate national bankruptcy and loss of Empire.
Im sure Orys will be on soon to educate us on Polands contribution to WW2!! We do owe Poland a great deal…we went to war for them and ultimately let them down badly when we let Russia pile in there.

All the Polish drivers Ive met have been most pleasant even when theyve been forced to park up for a 9 
People tend to forget all the Brits emigrating to Canada, Australia etc, all the Pole,s are doing is trying to better themselves the same as we are.
The depot where I work has quite a few Polish drivers. They are, too a man, (and 1 woman) an excellent addition to the workforce.
We also have several Hungarians, 1 Turk and a Frenchman on the staff.
All top people, they are only doing what many Brits have done in the past and left their homeland looking to improve their standard of living, good luck to them I say.
They do seem to be getting more than their share of overtime, but that is down to bad management more than being their fault.
They were apparently promised as much overtime as they wanted when they were recruited by First Group in a recruiting drive looking for drivers set up in Poland.
We used to have a lot more of them, but some of them have moved on to better paid jobs in this country and quite a few, I am told, have returned home where the rates of pay have apparently improved greatly since they left. The ones who have stayed seem to have built up a good family life for themselves in England and are looking to stay permanently.

Personally I have found a spare hard hat does the required job, when realy desperate a carrier bag. -I have travelled a little bit around , and found nationality makes little difference. If anything I have seen more guys in the UK jumping out of the cab and peeing against the wheels rather than walk 100 yards to the toilets than anything else.
Theres guys driving trucks who are totally unhygenic, and the UK contigent have their fair share
Oh Rikki, tut tut. Should take a pack of bin liners with you mate, those carrier bags alll have little holes in them to stop your little sprogs from suffocating.
And I bet you wondered why you couldn’t get rid of the smell even with Febreze. LOL.

Yeah, and I just developed a new method how to make a ■■■ throughout the window while driving!!! Thanks to that I am now able to break the tacho rules even more as I do not need to stop until I’ll run out of fuel!
But that’s not a problem, there is plenty of free diesel in laybys all arround UK

I already did it in another thread… But I just want to remind you that you joined the war in theory only, as apart of declaring the war against Germany you did nothing real (dropping leaflets “You bad guys, stop attacking Poland” from bombers does not counts ) . You entered war when it was necessary for you and you would have to enter it anyway (unless the talks between nazis and british goverment, which, as it was releaved recently, were still considered until 1941 would suceed).
Anyway even if Britain did not as much as it promised us in treaty, British help to Polish Goverment on Exile (which was in London until 1989) was great.

I was talking about this only last night with some of my taxi-driver cronies. It seems as if there is a certain element within British society who are only happy when they have got someone different to blame for everything. Ten years when I started working people used to be going on about “(zb) (zb)” stealing our jobs and taking over the country, now it’s “(zb) Poles”. Same ignorant bigotry different target. I used to find when I was on the taxis people would start off as soon as they got in “(zb)ell a white driver, evenin drive, bloody hell your english, not many of you left all the (zb) (zb)(zb) and poles stealing all the work ripping people off bet they really get on your nerves.”
I’d just be like “well actually mate some of those (zb) (zb)(zb) are my friends and they’re much nicer people than you are” Boils my blood [/rant]
