The fines go straight to the treasury.Perhaps if so many “professional” drivers didn’t break the law, there wouldn’t be so many fines handed out.
And you lot moan about the police. Get your own house in order first?
Fair comment but then “perhaps” they will crackdown on the diesel and load thief’s, ahhhhhhh but that doesn’t earn as much and doesn’t sound as good when in the local press.
Us lorry drivers are the scum of the earth and should be treated as such whilst all those thieving gits are just trying to feed their families.
“Perhaps” you have never woken up in the morning and found an empty tank or stuff missing off your trailer (and that’s when parked in a “safe” place as in msa or truckstop)
Get a life and get real.
How do you propose the police (with very limited resources thanks to government cuts) catch load and diesel thieves then, Mr Expert?
Perhaps if they weren’t ■■■■■■■ with dealing with truck drivers breaking multiple laws, perhaps they could find the time to deal with thieves?
[/quote]
2 cars and 2 bikes to flag down a truck?
How is that limited resources?
If the truck was going to do a runner then what are the bikes gonna do?
Roadsrat… when you leave school and grow up, you really ought to actually go ahead and realise your fantasies and join the Police, you have definitely demonstrated in your short time on this forum that you have the right attitude to qualify as a modern Traffic Division Police officer, ie a know it all smart arsed patronising ■■■■■ I remember when there was an element of mutual respect between truck drivers and Police, for eg.From the Police side, an unwritten law that 45 to 50mph was acceptable on a clear Aroad, and 50 on a d/c when the limit was 40, or to put it in simple terms for you, they actually used a bit of discretion back then and did not concentrate on easy target revenue raising operations. An eg from the other side is a lot of truck drivers, including me on at least 2 occasions, would stop and help out at a RTA scene. As for today’s new generation of dumbed down Police, or at least most of them, the words ■■■■ and fire, rather than help, spring to mind, as they are generally, I have found, to be of the same attitude as displayed by yourself.
Alarmingly it could even be that you are GENUINELY a Traffic PO and not a schoolboy troll at all ,if so given what I have said, I believe you will go far. note… Not intended as a compliment, but judging by your arrogance you will no doubt take it as so

Harry, He would have a field day on that Scanny today with all those flags blocking the drivers vision and “creating a dangerous blindspot”
It would be even worse if he got pulled over by the Good Taste Police.

Well,if the police have such ‘limited resources thanks to government cuts’ ,they seem to be double manning newly bought tractor units all over the place. How many tractors have they bought?
Where are they “all over the place”?
Sir +:
Here’s a thought though - park up in known curtain slashing/fuel theft hotspots and at least attempt to catch the uncatchablesSuch areas are regularly patrolled.
Is that before or after at least 8 - thats 8 of them turn up at local Tescos to do there shopping at around 0230hrs■■? (Various Tescos seen it happen at 2 Tescos in Norfolk (Thetford and Dereham) as well as in Yorkshire at various outlets) Shame they didnt see the funny side that I pointed out perhaps instead of dialling 999 in an emergency I should call Tescos and ask for a shoppers announcement to be made! Out of curiouauty when they visit Tescos do they get staff discount?
A tip. Don’t get caught then you won’t be fined. Explaines why your upset as you had done something for the police to clap eyes on you. Maybe in furture you don’t be silly and get caught?
Yeah,I made the mistake of getting into the driving seat that day.

Don’t come on a truckers forum expecting equality or sympathy
I am not expecting anything from this forum princess.
Compared to the average trucker cops are lazy effers
I would say that truck drivers are lazy [zb]. Truck drivers who expect to be paid £700 to £1000 a week to drive a lorry from A to B and still moan that the money isn’t enough

With reference to the don’t get caught the problem nowadays is that the police show no discretion with infringements this happened to me last wednesday night was booked onto the 21.00 Liverpool to Dublin arrived at 20.05 told to late to get boat and so given a booking on the 03.00 stasrted card at 06.15 so unable to carry out a boat movement however thursday is last card and need a 45 hour break. Options open to me are ship trailer and take a 45 which will delay going home for another two weeks so will end up doing a month out or as i did get the 03.00 sailing accept the fact I am breaking the law and hope i get don’t get stopped in the next 28 days. however on exiting the boat at 12.00 on thursday i have had in total 15 hours or so off explain to me the danger I am presenting to the general public. What would you mr perfect world Micky Blue have done? It is very easy to judge other drivers but unless you know everyones circumstances who are you to judge unless of course you are a judge which i very much doubt

I haven’t judged anyone in this thread. I also have three infringements on my card, so i am also not an angel myself. Don’t know where you get the information from with me being perfect, that’s one thing i am not!
What i have stated to harry is obey the law then you won’t get stopped simples, but we are not all perfect. He fails to grasp that concept of “Don’t get caught” but hey ho

I think i said this before to you and you got upset and got very rude about it. Police have nothing to do with safe parking etc. It’s down to the driver to know where it is safe, or not, and my advice is, If you know that the area your parked in is a fuel hot spot area then don’t park there at all. If you do park in that area then your to blame, no one else. (Apart from the herberts who steal the fuel)
I don’t know if Roadsrat will agree, but catching a diesel thief in my opinion red handed is like winning the lottery. Again it is down to the drivers to help and inform the police if they seen a sus vehicle hanging about parked up near trucks, but again truck drivers don’t phone the police as it will make them look soft. Now days the thief don’t have to be near the truck to steal the fuel, they can be 500 meters down the road so it won’t look like there up to anything.

Yep your quite right,i did get very rude
so your with that rat thing on here ,wouldn’t expect anything else from a failed cop,
so police think all those lorry driving offences are VERY serious, O.K. LETS TAKE TODAY FOR EXAMPLE.
M6 southbound 8 miles north of Keele, a full red curries international on lt plates is weaving a bit in lane 1 and 2 varying between 45 to 50 mph . when he steadies up i start to overtake and get along side his cab.it’s double manned and they are watching a film on laptop which is square in middle of dash(not pointing to one side), Both are eating a meal of sorts from containers.
I back of and using a handsfree phone kit call police and give all details etc to them.
I was behind them all the way to hilton park services and not one police car even came near, they obviously thought that being foreign and doing that was either not dangerous or to much hassle to do the paperwork etc.
i did phone it in again but was just asked for same details even when i quoted the reference number given in first call.
Won’t even bother doing that again.waste of time if it not a money earner or qudos at the local nick/local paper.
ohhhhhhhhh by the way i won on irish lottery today
