Harry Monk:
The Police should protect citizens from the malevolent actions of others, not protect citizens from their own foolish choices. If somebody isn’t wearing a seatbelt then it is only themselves they are likely to harm (and for the record, I always wear a seatbelt and used to long before they were compulsory).
The filth may as well hide outside McDonalds and nick fatties for buying a cheeseburger, this is a revenue raising exercise and nothing more.
You’re entitled to your opinion, however unrealistic and laughable it is.
Alternatively, you could have posted a considered response rather than an ad hominem attack.
But then why would go go to the trouble of doing that for a “steering wheel attendant”?
Is it any wonder that the majority of citizens hold you in such low regard?
Why? I’m wasting my time with you. It’s Harry’s way and no one can challenge it.
Using the term “filth” repeatedly is hardly respectful, is it?
Take a closer look at yourself.
Tbh, I’d say Mr Monk is a more useful and productive member of society than a left brain imprisoned, parrot of the system. His bottle and drive in setting up a new business in this ailing and corrupt climate are, imo, something we need more of, in some vain attempt at trading our way out of this financial [zb], instead of Prima Donna civil servants, castrating our freedoms at every turn. Imho of course.
So that gives Harry to right to verbally abuse on an Internet forum?
With this trucking empire of Harry’s, I’m surprised he finds the time to abuse others on here!

Pot, kettle, black…
Perhaps joining the forum and displaying such a holier than thou attitude wasn’t your best strategy.
Go and have a word with yourself and maybe in future you’d be taken more seriously.

If anyone was displaying a “holier than thou attitude”, it certainly wasn’t me but your own brethren.
Watch their attitudes decend even further into that of authoritarian, self righteous, zealots, as the “depression” deepens in the coming months.
It’s the law, it’s the Law.
Oh what a joyous time to be an Englishman, in England.
Forget seatbelts and mobiles, Your “brethren” ought to wake the ■■■■ up and arrest the criminal ■■■■■■■■ in and around the Square Mile that’ve bankrupted the nation and sent us back to the 30’s in terms of prosperity.
See how smug you are when they flog your Volvos and Beemers and you’re all issued with Kia Ce’ed’s!
Yes I’m ranting. No I couldn’t give a ■■■■ what you think.
By joining TNUK, you seemed to have filled a void. That of the smart arse traffic copper. What better opportunity to vent ones spleen to an off duty police constable.
I’m not seeking to convince you of the error in your deeply held prejudice against lorry drivers. What it has done, imo, is to add to my, sadly, negative experiences of your brethren and shown anyone that has had the patience to follow this tired thread to this point that the Police are indeed out to get you. Seatbelts, sandwiches, drinks ? Christ, what’s the fine for picking your nose? Can’t do that with 2 hands on the wheel.

Wasn’t it the government (labour party) that bankrupted the UK?
The Volvo’s, Audi’s and BMW’s are here to stay I’m afraid to say. You’ll have to trust me on that.
Btw, you’re welcome to your opinion. A opinion that isn’t really shared outside of the trucking brethren.
Jesus wept…Just how far do we have to go with this tedious drivel?
Would somone please just lock this thread…It really is doing a diservice to this forum.

I don’t know if that’s fair to be honest. This thread possibly saved my licence tonight.
On my way home tonight, I hit the A11 at Barton Mills just after midnight. The car in front of me was driving a bit dodgy if you get the drift. Ranging from between 30mph to 35mph. then he nudged the nearside banking before straightening up and then riding along the white line, this manner continued for the entire length till Thetford.
I was just thinking to myself whilst backing off a bit, this guy/Lass seems to be a little worse for wear. Well clearly he/she was a lot worse for wear as an empty “Carling” can got evicted from the drivers window.
I will admit folks, at this point I picked up my mobile phone and was about to call the police. then i thought of this thread, how lucky was that. I already have 9 points on my licence, 3 for using a mobile phone whilst driving and there I sat with a phone in my hand, absolutely disgraceful behaviour I know, I hang my head in shame and will accept the grief I receive from other members of my hideous crime.
So between Barton mills and Thetford, this guy managed to consume 3 cans (Well that’s what got ejected from the window). (I’m sure the cans did not belong to the passenger, because the passenger was using his own window to evict his/her cans).
So all in all, 3 points saved on the licence, no patronising speach for me. Got home safely and can sleep soundly knowing that as a true proffesional I resisted the urge to break the law even if I did think it was the right thing to do. As for the driver in front, you can all sleep safely too as it looked like he/she was wearing their seat belt.
Ironstipper,
You can’t be prosecuted for using your handheld phone to phone the police. so your licence would have been safe.
But by not ringing the police, You did the right thing.
Many people in UK avoid reporting crime to the police because of negative results. I was in a local pub some time back & 2 yahoos were throwing their money around & out of their heads. The local newspaper had reported vicious muggings in the area & the description fitted these guys.I rang the old bill & described the situation & the cop was very interested in the fact that two customers were drunk & still being served & wanted to know the name of the pub so they could nick the landlord! That’s just one example. Somebody tried to break into my house a coupla months ago while I was in it - I never bothered to report it,complete waste of time.(probably the same guys? )

Anyway if anyones interested, here’s who instigated the crackdown…
Tispol Organisation, who according to companies house are an Architectural & Engineering Activities & Consultancy company. They are run by ACPO, or sort of headed by them. Here’s their up and coming crackdown dates… tispol.org/road-policing/rp … dates-2013
They’re an interesting organisation…
You’re wrong, two seperate campaigns were ran in the same week:
But lets not let incorrect info get in the way eh!
I’m wrong am i ? You deduce this how, by relying on a police press release to actually say Tispol is responsible or do you know other wise? Because one press release doesn’t mention TISPOL we can take it for gospel its not a TISPOL led initiative can we? Lets see what the alternatives are, Suffolk Police (and others) meet the TISPOL initiative to have a seat belt crackdown and you reckon whilst the POlice are providing the rescources for this they think…hey we’ll do our own crackdown too. Even though as you intimated the RPU are hard pushed and you can be waiting ages for help if they’re ■■■■■■■, they’ve still got the manpower to run two seperate operations? I’d doubt it.
Also you infer people can vote their own Police commisioner who can have a direct say in what the public want (or words to that effect). Thats actually not true. TISPOL is a private company answerable to no one, with spivs on its board who run crash for cash type companies, this TISPOL organisation is “headed” or “overseen” by ACPO who are (as you well know) a complete unelected and law to them selves, who is well documented for favouring the economic concerns of their ex members or ex coppers. TISPOL and ACPO decide where and when the campaigns are run. Its nothing to do with what the electorate wants or needs and its certainley nothing to do with what the local Police Chief thinks.
Like you say, if a trucker gets caught without a seatbelt then he’s ony himself to blame for the fine, whats hard to fathom out though is why the Police are searching for this stuff to issue fines when they claim their remit is ‘saftey’. If it was really saftey, they’d pull them and advise them. If people wants more coppers on the beat instead of driving up and down the motorway in trucks stopping people for seatbelts, then thats some thing they’re entitled to decide upon as the Police work for them but its not going to happen, because they really do not have a choice, even though you intimate they do. Even though there is talk about openess/community liason/stakeholders etc…its ■■■■■■■■ and bluff.
The difference between a lorry driver and you is that one knows what he’s doing and why he’s doing it and the other hasn’t a clue , he just does what he’s told and what his priorities are this week.

to be fair on the bloke mike, i think the Leveson Inquiry as well as the Saville inquiry has proved to the country without doubt what the average working folk have know for donkeys years.
The average copper is as bent as a three pound note, who has to justify his job by sucking crap of a nobody’s 'arris. most of them are ex bed wetting bullied school kids that have a grudge to bear.
Once they get stuffed in that shiny uniform, they go from bullied to bully, and use that uniform to try to patronise and intimidate folk.
They ask the working public to support them during cuts, wage and pension disputes as well as supply information. Whilst at the same time they target the same generally honest, tax paying hard working folk. That whom’s only agenda in life is to gain a fair days pay for a fair days work.
my post above was 100% factual last night, apart from the bit about picking up my mobile phone. Having been on the receiving end of Norfolk police’s great stitch ups to gain brownie points in the past, as well as receiving grovelling oppologies and pay outs thanks to “Simon Nicholls of Belmores solicitors” from them for being in the wrong. As a hard working, honest tax paying family bloke. The day I ever phone the police will by Christ be a very dark one.
I have my job to do, they have theirs. i crack on, so can they. If they are any good they can do it by them selves.
