Parking not in a space at services

[zb] last week at Lymm decided to complete his 30 break at the pump while there was a queue building up behind.
Inconsiderate prick and was told so, asked him why he was waiting so long and was told he was finishing his 30

At least he didn’t make up some lame excuse.

Still wet behind the ears myself mate, so is this the nirm and to just be sucked up ? As myself I find it a total ■■■■■■■■

image.jpegwith this room ,and all those easy empty spaces this screwdriver still went for a space between 2 others a clobbered the tipper body and then had to reverse out !

Trouble:
I try to park at the sides out of the way, because any time I`m at the services I literally want to nip in to the loo, grab a coffee, get my 15 mins in and go. I try to keep out of the way for drivers who need to stop for their 45 mins or longer.

Also, there seems to be a weird set up in some services where you have to park 2 deep? I dont want to pull in behind someone who is having a 45 when I only want a 15, and Im not yet confident with reversing (at all) so I try to stay out of the way sos not to annoy anyone  ... Im not confident, I dont know the etiquette and after reading this thread Im now a little bit scared tbh :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Don’t be scared. If it’s definitely totally out of the way then fine. But even if it’s just to nip in or take a 15 if there’s anyway your blocking spaces you better going in a space yourself, because by thinking your doing others a favour by not going in the space you might actually be blocking the spaces as was the case this morning. In the time it took one driver to nip in for the toilet and get a brew (didn’t even have a 15) about 4 lorries came in who couldn’t get in those spaces. Fortunately there was plenty of others for them. But had there not been than that lorry was blocking the spaces for the time it took to nip in. And remember, you’ll only get more confident at reversing by doing it. And at least at services of your really struggling if your lucky someone will notice and come and ask if you want help, failing that it’s full of truckers who you can ask for help. So it’s not a bad place to ask for it to get the practise in

It’s not the guy behind yous problem that theres nowhere for you to park.

And it’s not my problem that they’ve got a crap job that pushes them so much that every second counts.

i wouldnt think someone wanting not to be held up by a fanny on the pumps has to have a crap job…itl only become your problem if thats your attitude to abandoning your truck on the pumps when yu do it in front of the wrong guy,and possibly end up beaten to a pulp as mostly the one on the recieving end would want to do that to you in the 1st place… i wish i would do it every time it happens to me even if its just some gormless wifey in a petrol station, but the fact im a ■■■■■■ and couldnt fight sleep means i refrain from such antics).i also wish worse n tractor drivers, and those tesco types that kick the ■■■ out of sitting at the speed limit.

Don’t have a problem with someone fulling up then using facilities ( as long as not too long   ) but when they take a 30 min break when there is a que then I do have a problem with it totally unnecessary

why dont you beat them to a pulp.,then pull their pin whilst awaiting the ambulance…job satisfaction all round i would say

Because she is about 4 stone wet through. Mind you she could give you a nasty nip on the knee cap.

Thanks. If I park to the side I do try and make sure Im well out of the way and not blocking anyone or any spaces. I havent yet figured out how you get close to the curb when parking a lorry when you have a lorry in front and one behind, I always seem to mess that up good and proper too dies of embarrassment    Ive been lucky so far at the services and been able to park at the sides easily, and tbh if there was a bay where I could drive through and be at the front I would do so too  ... There seems to be some many unwritten rules  I certainly wouldnt try and take my break while on a pump though?!! That`s just rude

Dont think i would pull pin but if i got stuck behind some ■■■■ takeing a 30 min break at the pump the first thing i do is check the cab is open or locked and if open i would have a crap in his cab and if i was in good form i would also ■■■■ all over it and he would be getting away light with that.

No you wouldn’t.

Stop talking ■■■■■■■■.

I’d give them a firm stern frown, vainly in the hope they gave a crap! :open_mouth:
Then I’d get on with my day…

Best answer so far. In all the times I’ve stopped at a pump to use the facilities, no one has EVER said
anything (with the obvious exception, but they didn’t hang around). Truth be told, bar on an Internet forum, no one gives a ■■■■ if they’re held up for ten/fifteen minutes.

I don’t think it’s that people don’t give a ■■■■, more they are resigned to the fact some people are ignorant & can’t be bothered with an arguement. It takes a certain type of person to purposely hold up other people for the sake of saving 15 minutes on their days

I’ve sat cursing under my breath tossers perusing the papers and slowly making coffee while trying to nick 15 on the pump, but have admittedly never said anything.

Nothing to do with being ignorant. My needs are as important to me as yours are to you. I’m not going to go hungry/thirsty or be left uncomfortable because I need the loo, simply because someone wants to get home 15 minutes earlier.

I’ve never actually put the tacho on break whilst I’ve used the services, but of course anyone behind me wouldn’t know that.

Hmm… I wouldn’t do it personally because I’m not a complete and utter ■■■■■.

I watched a limper in a hi viz (he actually did limp and had the earpiece) hanging the time out on the pump a while back. Fuelled up, checked truck, walked to shop to pay, walked back to cab to get wallet, walked back to shop, walked around shop, bought coffee. Instead of getting irate, I found it amusing that he is so desperate for work that he must wring every last minute out of his day because he’ll probably be at home tomorrow, willing the phone to ring…To be offered, no forced to accept, blue chip work with P and H.

Bingo
I don’t park on pumps or block access roads so must be?
That’s why I drive trucks
