Parking not in a space at services

I like not having to use the fuel pumps at services, having fuel in the yard is a God send. Back on the rigids, I had a 600lt fuel tank. Only time I ever had to use an actual filling station was when someone didn’t order more diesel for the yard tank in time.

Pulled in at Thurrock Friday evening for a 30 minute break (15 already taken) and the parking guy said to pull up behind a line of lorries in the bays . When I got back there was a driver wanting to pull out but as my break was then up no problem . There were bays I could have parked in but I didn’t want to take a space that someone needed for a night out and so I parked where the attendant said .

You should see birchanger green.not an inch if tarmac without a lorry in it.

The guy marshalling Thurrock is a driver himself (taking a self imposed break to allow his license points to calm down).
He’s a really good guy and is constantly looking for the best solution for all.
I spent 3 nights at Thurrock this week and without him there, it would have been absolute carnage.

Just wished more people listened to him instead of “knowing better”

Same here my rigid has double tanks so I only need to put diesel in at services if I’ve been to Scotland and even then it’s only a 100ltrs as an insurance policy

I often have the pleasure of dragging a 15mtr trailer that has a huge rear overhang and frankly it can be a nightmare getting out of a ■■■■■■■■■■■■ when someone parks in front of you. It’s very easy to take off someone’s mirrors or worse, when trying to get out. Oh the joys of driving…
