Either way, you couldn’t say that either a Volvo FH 750 or a Scania R 730 had been correctly specced for channel-hopping fridge work.

Who’s channel hopping Harry ?

In that case, your an axle short!

Big diesel tanks are a lot more use than an axle that’s not needed in Europe!

“Who’s channel hopping” implies it’s not leaving this country, therefore the extra payload is worth more than 1500 litre tanks…

2nd in the premier league to the FH750. Good luck anyway pal.

I second this…time for a duel!

Reigate or Birdlip fully freighted !!!

I think that should settle it… Haha

I used to love driving to Norway, but I wouldn’t call It ‘Channel hopping’…

Channel hopping is Out to Calais empty, reload 1 hr or so away then back in, repeat the following day…

Not quite what we do !!

Does it matter? It’s nice that some people can still afford to run flagships, even if it is just ‘channel hopping’ to Norway…

I suppose so. In fairness I have chatted to a lot of his drivers and they all say he is decent enough to work for so I will quietly retire from this thread.

No he meant the opposite, they go all across europe, therefore tanks are more important,

Have you seen the 730 ex demo at bellshill Scania. It was at Gaydon last year, it pulled the tea trailer. Would look good with Ray White on the front…

It will have soon…

Swine! I was going to have that after Friday’s Euromillions win!

Ha Ha… You can buy it off me if you win the euromillions…

You’ve come a long way since the ex ganders trucks. Nice to see. But my Money is on the Volvo. It’s gotta be done ya know.

Deal done, it would keep me amused until the new FH16 came at least…

Well…I think it should be the A34 nb at East Ilsley/Compton. Had one of Whites try to pass the 430 Axor I’m in at the mo on Tuesday night and he failed miserably…I grossed about 36t and I guess the way he died back, he was pulling 36t!! Mind you, different story down the other side!! I’ll withhold the reg as me winning it to the crest is embarrassing enough  On that fact, I’ll have 20 on Luke!!

Luke… Sorry to read of your loss

Well, Volvo should hang their head in shame after they let you done so badly on the back up side.

The truck doesn’t matter, they’re all decent nowadays it’s the service when they break down that matters and if Volvo held me to ransom like that, I’d never buy another either. Duly noted.

Fair play to Scania and Daf, uptime is key.

R-730 number 3 added to the fleet. Collect next Friday…

Only done 10,000km, ex demo. Never even pulled a loaded trailer.

If you need a pilot …

Just sayin

No bother - I look forward to hearing from you .

Taken last June when new.

Cracking looking Unit, long time ago since I drove a Scania,it was a 113,360 but it was a pleasure to drive, can’t remember what fuse you could pull in those days to hit the markets but it wouldn’t half motor.
Nice to see a local’ish company to me doing well, keep up the good work
