Last week i took on an agency job for a local firm. The unit i was driving was on a 06 plate. Although it was taxed neither the unit or trailer had an operators licence plating certificate on both unit and trailer, or a test certificate on the trailer. If i get stopped by VOSA who gets persecuted me as the driver or the operator or both. Irang the agency to tell them of the situation and after calling the firm in question they rang back to tell me that i was. okay to drive there motors. Can this be right.
Being an 06 plate it’s a fairly new vehicle. I beleive an operator has a period where they can use a new vehicle minus the disk providing they have the spare margin on their licence, this is how they can use hired vehicles.
I’m pretty sure it’s the operator that carries the can for lack of a valid O licence.
