It’s a hard life Pete , only another 4 days and we start 2017 and another 365 day holiday .
Do you ever fancy doing the odd week or two back in the cab Pete?

If only beaver, if only. I had to pack the job in at 52 due to the Mrs health problems and have always missed it. Just sent my licence off for renewal again but I will never drive trucks for a living as I’m not doing any CPC. However the licence might be useful sometime, like levelling the leg of a rocky coffee table for instance! I only had a class 2 so was never a ‘proper driver’ anyway. It is now 14 years since I last sat in a truck and things seem to have changed rather a lot…not least that somebody has removed the bloody gearlevers!!
Pete.
Bored? Left to my own devices, it would take me about 12 months before I got the urge to ‘get back on the road again’. No, I’m not bored, I don’t relish spending half my life as a wage slave.
No chance,I enjoy my job but the time with my little on is great, went out on Boxing Day and saw some poor sods out in there trucks
I Always remember these firms if I’m ever looking for a job
truckman020:
those walks must have taken their toll, they look knackered[lol],nice pic though
That was several hours after a walk, normally they’ve been through the stream, the muddiest section, and covered in muck and bullets when we get back, little scallies they are.

but to anwser question…not bored just upset ppl u work with have nt gt the same level of respect and professional conduct has ourselfs.

Bored?
NFC. I finished on the 15th, still got another week and half left at home and to be honest I’m already dreading going back to that ■■■■.
Wouldn’t worry me If I never saw a truck / car/ ■■■■■■■■ driving a car ever again.
I find that driving every day for a living makes me like that, I need another job that pays the same but fat chance of that happening any time soon down here.
Was bored dealing with family and chasing the dog with a remote control helicopter now I’m bored of the horrific driving being displayed today and the amount of traffic on the roads.
Oh well, coffee time.

Bollox to driving.

I was looking forward to a nice quiet run, no pressure, should be parked at the doorstep.Idiots being unable to drive without ploughing into one another put that idea to bed. To grin and bear it or park up, drink tea and do the rest tomorrow, hmmm…

I know beaver, sad aren’t I. As we only had rigids there was no point in me having a class 1. I definately feel that I missed out though, in 30+ years I never managed to (a) hit a bridge, (b) tip a trailer on its side, (c) drop a trailer and forget to wind the legs down, (d) never sat in a RDC waiting room listening with baited breath to the other ‘proper drivers’ adventures, (e) never even been a Stob-rat.
It’s a wonder that I managed to enjoy my job, what with missing out on all those exciting day to day adventures that fill the trucknet pages, but somehow I managed it and would happily do it all again!
Pete.
Fair points, well made Pete!! Very little skill required in driving artics mate, I am living proof…
Sorry to hear about Mrs Windrush’s health though fella. I hope things aren’t too bad for you both.
Finished on the 21st due to work injury and won’t be back until 8th Jan.
Am I bored. NO

I’m not bored with being off work, I absolutely hate work and like many of us I only do it as a means to an end. I do miss being on my boat though, I have been in staying in a house since Christmas Eve and I’m finding it very hard to adjust.

I spotted you in Drump Lane, Cambourne a good few months ago! You still got that Magnum?
