OK,,, Who's bored already?

I’m not bored with being off work, I absolutely hate work and like many of us I only do it as a means to an end. I do miss being on my boat though, I have been in staying in a house since Christmas Eve and I’m finding it very hard to adjust.

I spotted you in Drump Lane, Cambourne a good few months ago! You still got that Magnum?

No, I sold the Magnum back in June, I’m doing a bit of agency work at the moment until I go off narrowboat cruising again sometime in late March or early April. It is still on the road in the UK though, it’s been spotted a few times on the M1 pulling an ex-Tesco trailer, and once it went over the Dartford Crossing and back and I ended up paying for it because I’d forgotten to take the registration number off of the Dart system. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Sounds bloody ideal mate, better than driving trucks all over the place that’s for sure!
Envious!

Me, sick of drinking, eating, wife, odley enough kids are fine.
I miss my offroader at times like this but no time for it at normal times of the year.
Looks like another long walk with the dog again tomorrow :unamused:

Still got 6 and a half days left, and really missing the job…like I miss toothache. :bulb:

Spent a lot of time this week with family, watched a lot of football, been knocking around with my two lads a bit, and caught up with some old mates last night over a few pints.
I also chance met a guy who used to keep me right and taught me a lot when I was a young newbie, who I have a lot of respect for. I had a good natter with him, a real proper ex trucker …74 yr old now.
I asked him if he missed the job, he looked at me like I had ■■■■■■ on his shoes
His last 5 years spent in the job were the time when it was just starting to turn to ■■■■ and changing into the cluster ■■■■ of rules regs and H&S nazism it is today, so he said NO…he certainly aint missing it either after 10 years, but did experience the best years in the job.
When I tell him some of the stuff that goes on today we put up with, he can’t believe it.

If anyone’s bored and missing life on the road why not find a pebble, a Lidl carrier bag and phone the scumbags, errr I mean the agencies up, I’m sure they’ll have you driving someone’s pride and joy while they’re off.

After 45 years plus of only getting a few days off at Bank Holidays and having only bare minimum Annual holidays, its been bloody marvelous being retired for the last five years. Not enough hours in the day to do exactly what I like and when I like, not getting up in poor weather at what ever o`clock in the morning its so boring

Bored skint fed up. In limbo week with agency work. New Years resolution is to get permanent work.

Yeh but you are our hero mate, keeping the wheels of the transport industry turning while the rest of us are off, in a true Dunkerque spirit.
Im proud of you and I really wish I was there with you…keep it up.

Paid holiday Beezle that’s what you get when gainfully full time employed :grimacing:

I’m bored now. Not back till 3rd. Decs down, house spring cleaned. Load of tripe on the telly. Can’t work on my car. Broke up with my partner a few weeks ago so I’m adjusting to being on my own.
I love my job so I’m ready to go back

Well I got a bit of stick while working? Thanks people!
