O licence and tacho weights

would i be right in saying that
tachos are required for all vehicles over 3.5t :question:
o licence is required if operating vehicles over 7.5t :question:

Nope - O licence is required for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes - unless it is for personal use.

Hi jc69817, Tachos and β€˜O’ licence both start at 3.5t mate, but there are some exemptions to both.:grimacing:

The trick here is that you’re talking about two completely different sets of Regs, therefore the exemptions don’t work in exactly the same way. :wink:

thought so but was hoping to be wrong

was thinking about running a 5.25 iveco or similar more for bulk than weight
but may have to go for a xlwb transit or similar

well could downrate a 5.25 to 3.5 for bulk…we did it with MERC 607 for bulk
