Nozzle Puzzle

Most fuel pumps I use will not auto fill because the metal latch on the inside of the handle is broken. Have tried using plastic bottle, crush, and the fuel cap, too slow.
Any ideas

If in scania the washer bottle or adblue cap does the job perfectly.

Just use the ABS lead end and wedge it into the handle…

Just use a coin, the bigger the better. Wedge it at the back when the trigger is fully squeezed and it stops it from sliding back down.

if in a DAF with remote door locking, the remote fob fits perfectly, or the plastic wheel nut cap fits perfectly too

failing that, there is a product available that is designed to fit in the trigger grip

this topic has been discussed before, here is a link to what i was referring to

Tennis ball or a wedge shape piece of wood.

I started this thread a while ago

I’ve got a purpose-built piece of wood I cut to size in my shed.

No, it’s not still in my shed.

The bit that is normally broken is the pin that the latch locks on to. I keep a heavy duty paper clip on the side rail bracket by the fuel tank.

And I’ve always got a rivet in my coat pocket!

If you get desperate you can even use your hand eh ?

50p or £2 coin is your friend.

how does a 2 pound coin look? :grimacing: :grimacing:
A driver with 2 pound in his pocket? where has the world come too?? :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I unwrap my Anderson lead for a tailift on the back of the cab and wedge it in.

This^^^^^

A pop rivet is your friend :sunglasses:

The t bar on the chain that is connected to the cap was a good size to fit in the holes.
Rolled up gloves worked as well.

ive got a plastic fuel card holder on my key ring… works perfectly

Remove the cab torsion bar and wedge that in (might take a while)

A 50p piece as has been mentioned is perfect at the back of the lever.

The new Merc key fits nicely at the top end of the lever.

I can sell you a ‘wedge’ for a couple of quid, it’ll look identical to a 50p piece but will have no monetry value so you can only use it for fuel filling
