Well, I quite liked it! The shows content was the usual stuff the old presenters would have done, & I found Matt le Blanc a bit funny at times, too many bods are comparing it to the old show. The only difference is the presenters, Blue Peter survived very successfully for many years with various presenters, I suspect Top Gear will be accepted in it’s new form in due course.
The Yanks don’t seem to like it

I liked it, but then again I have low expectations and am easily pleased.
Carryfast:
To be fair he’s not doing a bad job of filling Clarkson’s shoes. The Vette v Viper stunt as expected was just silly. When just some serious runs at the Nurburgring and Santa Pod with Sabine Schmitz v the Stig taking turns in both would have been a better comparison. As for the silly off road go kart and Reliant and Land Rover and Jeep stunts more timewasting bollox. All of which can be blamed on BBC production demands not Evans. As for Clarkson’s new set up.The word is that it’s not going to be possible to just get the programme on single pay per view.It can only be obtained as a total package of other unwanted zb programming.

It will be on the pirates sites within 24 hours, you have a computer obviously, if you have a bit of nous about you get it…Chris Evans is a vomit inducing perpetually grinning imbecile who I would like to kick till my steelys wore out, a turd of a man who should be drowned in diarrhea.

Blimey I think the BBC can take that as a no vote.
Seriously as I said the programme arguably needs to get back to being more about cars and less about entertainment.Unfortunately Evans is probably trying to hide not enough in depth knowledge about cars with too much unwanted ( what he views as ) ‘entertainment’.Which obviously fits the BBC production agenda of trying to make it a PC entertainment programme not one that’s all about ( what it views as ) those nasty fast car things. While Clarkson could obviously tick the entertainment box but was too much into cars and didn’t do PC.On that note if the BBC wants to save the show it needs to lose the PC anti car enthusiast agenda and turn the show over to just ‘proper’ car people like Sabine Schmitz,Chris Harris,Harry Metcalfe, and Alain de Cadenet.
ive always reckoned sabine goes at it like trying to hold a wet dog in a bath…just a passing thought.
There is a extra show on BBC 3 called. Extra gear .It wasn’t bad ain’t seen top gear
yet Indy 500 clashed with it so I recorded it.
I must admit I thought it was OK.
Alot of people I know were bashing it even before it aired so had already made their minds up.
I went in with an open mind and it seems the same as the old top gear with the trio.
I must admit I thought the concept had gotten old when the trio were doing it so I thought the same.
Was a big fan of the old top gear, but it was getting a bit tired in the end,
so I watched this one with a open mind, so far about 3 out of 10, don’t think I will bother to watch any more
Hard act to follow the previous 3 , I also thought though Quentin Wilson was just has good on motoring programmes no silliness and always interesting , Evans is ok on the radio but when you have to see him on the box he does come across as a knob .
rubbish the ginner and yank have killed it
Fifth gear should had upped the profile of their own show.
Fifth gear with Tim can be entertaining at times.

Having held a wet dog in a bath, I can assure you its somewhat uncomfortable leaning over at an awkward angle, gets VERY messy VERY quickly, you need to spend about half an hour cleaning the entire bathroom afterwards, and also your clothes will stink, be soaked and need washing too (unless you wear a waterproof jacket and trousers, which can be hosed down).
So yeah, probably quite similar bearing in mind she’s German.
Saw a bit of the 2nd one .
Won’t bother with anymore …
Well I torrented it because I sure as ■■■■ wasn’t going to give the BBC a single ratings view…
Opinion:
WTF is it with that annoying goofy smiling wardrobeley retarded ginger ■■■■■? or should I now just call him Shouty Mcshoutface?
Matt leFlunk was utterly useless and Herr Sadbine wasn’t much better either.
Nah, RIP Top Gear!
The Bbc should rename the show " The Chris Evans show " as it’s all about him .
To be fair tonight’s episode wasn’t bad especially the Ferrari feature.

Tbf if the show had been billed as an alternative motoring show instead of being called Top Gear, but as a show to replace it. Instead of carrying it on in it’s old format, it would have got a better reception.
It’s the comparison of the old presenters with the new on the SAME show that is the problem…if you see what I mean.
I’m enjoying it though I do like Chris Evans. The trouble is people are comparing the presenters to the 3 who had worked together for years, and had become best friends hence the chemistry. If you look at the early episodes it at times looked fairly awkward especially with James May.
