New Scania

Looks a bit taller, maybe a fully flat floor

They should run a competition to name the limited editions.

My vote goes for the Scania ■■■■■■■■■■■■■.

 And they’d still sell them.

I can see the advert now.

Scania ■■■■■■■■■■■■■ Frilly Curtain Edition - Pulling a Chereau Trailer near you some time soon

Well going by these latest pics I’d say the model is pretty much on the money, if a little cheap and nasty looking

They should call it the new Scania “Disappointment” or the Scania “dull as dishwater”"

Maybe they’ll add “bland” to the Super badges.

Wasn’t It Obvious that it was going to look the same as the last one. Scania is now owned by VW and VW don’t change the design of vehicles by much
at all .Just look at the Golf.As Jeremy Clarkson once said about a brand new VW owned Porsche the designers are the laziest designers around .They might have got
promoted to Scania designers

I’ll laugh heartily if they’ve ditched the sunvisor in name of fuel economy. The Irish and Dutch boys who like those visors full of lights that take up half the screen will be crying into their V8 branded hankies. Its a very square cab, I wonder how much MAN cab is under there.

Please dont shoot me down for this but looking at the pictures It looks very dated already-I cannot be the only one that thinks that?
I know you cannot do much really but alot of the newer lorries look alot more modern.

It’s each to their own really - I take the ■■■■ but I quite like Scanias.

I’m sure that could be cured by driving one continually or having to pay for it though.

I do agree it looks dated compared to other makes but I suppose they are sticking to what they know sells and let’s be honest - they do sell.

I’ve had a flip through :grimacing:
Truth be told yes I have read through.

I must admit I did feel a bit cheeky saying what I said as I have only just passed my C+E so have no experience of Scania. As you say they still sell so why change the formula

Well as we all know, there are two types of driver in this world.

Drivers that drive a Scania and drivers that want to drive a Scania, and me who doesn’t care what he drives.

So that’s three, three types of driver.

I would have one over my Actros anyday. I’ve always liked Scanias and driven most models of them from the old 81/111/ to a V8 and modern Topliner.
I aint really fussed what a truck looks like from the outside, passed the Macho look thing and Trucking Poseur stage years ago :unamused: , …well apart from my frilly peek a boos, dream catcher and mirror shades…(ok then, fair enough maybe I haven’t   )

I’m more interested in driving position living space, and in cab comfort features nowadays, maybe an age thing who knows, but I would reckon Scania have looked at all the new models of other marques and matched and sometimes surpassed some of the ‘living in’ features.
Let’s just wait and see.

The same Scania that in 2016 still sells brand new lorries with make it yourself beds? They aren’t exactly renowned for their first class interiors

They had a perfect bed in the 4 series topline, if they reintroduce that it’d be a winner for me

I agree. That front bed was a fantastic idea, they really should have carried on with it, at least as an option.

I also liked it, although I only used the truck for a week, but I remember it generally getting a slagging from many drivers, but then maybe it was because it was different and drivers slag off anything that’s different and new.
Look at the vitriol the New Volvo and New Renault got on here, comments like nobody would buy them, biggest mistake Volvo ever made, Blah! Blah!
The FH4 or the Renault T range hardly seem to be failures and most people either don’t care or have got used to the design.

Although with Scania they have 2 markets really, the fleet market, who won’t care what it looks like as long as the figures stack up and the “I want a big Scania” market who probably want something very similar to what they’re used to and can stick all the bits on.

Not sure if this pic is a model or not (probably is) but it does show quite a resemblance to the model with a fair few similarities and if they are due soon, they’ve gotta be kicking around somewhere

It’s called a 3D render, it’s basically it’s a 3d model created on a computer and ambient effects and textures added to create a reasonably realistic impression.
