Excuse me but, they are not…they merely don’t get excited about a truck…I have at no point insulted or abused anyone. Which is more than can be said of most of the people that seem agitated I don’t ■■■■■■■■■■ when I see a new Merc!!!

Im not one to be polishing and pimping trucks but as co incidence I got a new lorry a couple of months ago and I wash it as often as possible in work time and I keep the inside clean as I sit in it all day. The company has entrusted me with a valuable piece of kit the least I can do is look after it but then again I’ve looked after old trucks I’ve driven too all in work time but not to truckfest standard but looking half decent. I earn decent money and am happy in my job.

I think as most people have realised reading this thread, you are not a man people like, in fact I would imagine in the real world people would avoid you, I certainly would.
The name of this forum is TRUCKNET I beleave so a guy posts a picy of his new TRUCK and is pleased about bein given a new TRUCK surley he is doin nothing wrong
And surley if you are on TRUCKNET you except to see pics of TRUCKS and discuss them in general and things associated with them
I could be wrong tho as I’m only A TRUCK DRIVER so according to most I’m not that clever
If your not interested in pics of TRUCKS or having discussions about TRUCKS praps you should try a different Internet forum

No, the third option is get off your arse and find something that pays a little better…there are decent paying jobs out there, not easy to find I grant you…but you have to look and not assume there aren’t any just 'cos you haven’t found one yet! It’s just that plenty of lads are easily seduced by a motor…generally at the expense of a decent wage.The Merc is alright, but you can see from the number of oohs and aahs on this thread how easily a lot of drivers can be seduced by a lump of metal.
You try and come across all clever and like you’re above everyone else, but you have overlooked one big fact
C&H Hauliers are consistently the best paid driving job in the UK (for those firms that report it anyway)
The driver is also happy that he’s getting a brand new lorry, wtf is the problem with that 
Nobody mentioned getting paid less for driving it, nobody mentioned polishing it for free, or buying chrome and lights for it, nobody said SFA about anything changing because of the new lorry The driver is just getting a new lorry
You mentioned wanting to see wage slips, well this is a site for lorry drivers, there may well be the odd picture of a lorry on here, as silly as that may sound

I can only assume the knockers are jealous. Most of us do this job because we enjoy it, so a nice bit of kit adds to the enjoyment.

It looks nice any chance of some pics of the insideYears ago I was bored and read a mercedes manual on
the exhaust brake which said for optimal efficiency the
revs should be high and in a lower gear. Recently I was
at max weight loaded with cement coming down a 14%
hill trying to keep it at 40mph in a 60 plate merc axor
with auto box. I dropped 2 gears and the revs was in a
yellow/red area but not fully red and another exhaust brake
light came on and worked well holding me at 40mph. I was
a bit worried when it was approaching the red then all of a
sudden you could hear the exhaust brake come in which
started slowing me down and revs dropped a little in to yellow.Yeah, let’s have some pics…we can all crack one off over it then…

Yes you probably have because everyone is getting sick of the bitter miserable types that seem to populate this forum in ever increasing numbers with the sole aim of dragging everyone down to their level. Yes, we get it, you dont care what you drive. Some of us do. I dont care what an office worker would or wouldn’t get excited over, I’ve never worked in an office. I work in this industry because its in my blood, I’ve been around it since I was a small child and I’m doing my dream job and driving a truck I love driving. You can look down your nose at me as much as you want but I’m the one that’s happy all the time…

I posted some pics of my new motor which I was well pleased with, it rarely gets washed and is often caked in crap. I’m reasonably well rewarded for the work and hours that I do and would struggle to better that locally. This vehicle is well specced which makes my life a little easier and more comfortable than driving a rattly old shed.

It’s just a wagon. Quite a nice wagon I’m sure…but who cares??
Incidentally the last Merc I drove was a shed…mind you, it had big k’s on it and was a 59 plater…
Both my brothers have very good ‘executive’ type jobs in the media and they happily tell me about the fuss in the office if someone gets a new chair.
As for laptops, if someone gets issued the latest thing, everyone else is knocking on the door looking for theirs and if they don’t get one they are off to the shops to buy their own (never saw that on ducks & bailers).
I agree ‘it’s just a wagon’ and just a tool for a job but there is nothing wrong in taking care and pride in your tools and work.
If you think it’s brand new design and still fairly rare on the roads I think it’s worth a thread on a Truck Drivers forum, don’t you?
