New Merc

It looks nice any chance of some pics of the inside

Years ago I was bored and read a mercedes manual on
the exhaust brake which said for optimal efficiency the
revs should be high and in a lower gear. Recently I was
at max weight loaded with cement coming down a 14%
hill trying to keep it at 40mph in a 60 plate merc axor
with auto box. I dropped 2 gears and the revs was in a
yellow/red area but not fully red and another exhaust brake
light came on and worked well holding me at 40mph. I was
a bit worried when it was approaching the red then all of a
sudden you could hear the exhaust brake come in which
started slowing me down and revs dropped a little in to yellow.

Yeah, let’s have some pics…we can all crack one off over it then… :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Have you ever heard that saying, if you ain’t got nothing good to say, keep ya mouth shut :unamused: :unamused:

Ooh dear, touched a raw nerve there methinks! :grimacing:

You [zb]! I hate you! I actually hate you! I’m so jealous :frowning:

No, I don’t get it.

If you worked in an office, would you get excited over a posh chair to sit in?! And a fancy printer and laptop??

It’s just a wagon. Quite a nice wagon I’m sure…but who cares?? :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Incidentally the last Merc I drove was a shed…mind you, it had big k’s on it and was a 59 plater…

Why do people like nice cars? Or fishing? Or football? It’s like a hobby and if your lucky you can make your hobby your job.

Hmm, it’s not the case though is it? It’s your job that is becoming your hobby in this instance. After all, you wouldn’t expect to be paid to go fishing or watch football. So would you be happy to go to work and polish your new truck for nothing as well? :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Oh yes some sad folk would… :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Why does it matter what way round it goes? if you enjoy your job that’s great! You work 80% of your life, you really should try and find a job that you enjoy.

If you live in your cab as well, it’s even more of a reason to get excited by a truck you want to drive, your going to be stuck in it for long enough!

I don’t really understand what you don’t get about someone loving the truck they drive? nor do I get why your on a truck forum where most people enjoy their job enough to spend some of their spare time talking about it, almost like a hobby…

The forum is not here primarily for the cab happy to get a stiffy on over new wagons. It’s here to help drivers new and old, and to offer information to anyone who wants it about driving on a day to day basis. For people to ask questions. I think we’ve all learned something from these forum pages at some point.

That’s why I’m on here.

And if I worked 80% of my life I’d be ready for topping myself mate!

Yes you probably have because everyone is getting sick of the bitter miserable types that seem to populate this forum in ever increasing numbers with the sole aim of dragging everyone down to their level. Yes, we get it, you dont care what you drive. Some of us do. I dont care what an office worker would or wouldn’t get excited over, I’ve never worked in an office. I work in this industry because its in my blood, I’ve been around it since I was a small child and I’m doing my dream job and driving a truck I love driving. You can look down your nose at me as much as you want but I’m the one that’s happy all the time.

And to the original poster I am very very jealous indeed. A fantastic looking beast.

nice, i like it.
added bonus is c&h run nice tackle, its decent work, and decent pay.
did a couple of weeks on agency, between tours last year, enjoyed it, people were fine and drivers appeared happy with their lot.

Totally agree with you Luke.

It seems that the British are completely incapable at being happy for someone else.

What are you all getting uppity about,I’ve been in the new Giga like all new rigs it’s clean, smart a nice piece of kit but it’s not that good, not worth getting uppity about I just wondered why Merc hadn’t made the interior better and larger front to back my old Magnum is 12 inches longer and has more room, best we wait for a report and some pics from Daftvader who seems a sensible type of chap.

I made the point that I do not understand the reason drivers get all excited about about a tool that isn’t even theirs.

I have several hobbies thanks, none of which involve drooling over other people’s property… :smiling_imp:

Well I’m glad you keep your opinion to yourself when it’s not relative and productive.

It’s funny though… None of the other not so cab happy people bothered posting on here, just the ones that were interested. Maybe you should go post on another topic you might actualy have an interest in, or like I said before, go enjoy one of your “several” hobbies instead of naysaying.

I actualy work in a firm that’s run and owned by myself, my brother and my dad. I guess that sort of makes the truck my property.

When did the word “■■■” become childish? Do I need to swear all the time to be an adult now?

To those claiming they’re indifferent to getting a new lorry, if the gaffer said we’re getting a new one delivered next week you’d say ‘don’t care, give it to someone else’?

I really liked these from the leaked pics, then the pre-release pics and after seeing them in the flesh.

The Actros is probably my favourite truck anyway, except for the daft cup holder and the drivers side blind design was a bit crappy, but a very comfortable and relaxing motor IMHO.
