As for my ego, (seeing as I have made no secret of my support) I do tend to stand up for myself at work, it’s just the way I am, and I make no apologies for doing so, but no need for massaging thanks mate, and if confidence wrongly comes across as arrogance and conceit, that can not be helped, but you are entitled to your opinion and interpretation.
You’ve got to love some of the reactions on here. I’m not an eb fan boy, but I do think the tone has changed to one of “everyone else is chipping in, so now I will”. It’s a classic mob mentality. For the record, I’d be playing it by the book just like eb, but to be honest, I wouldn’t have to. I would never be working for such a shower of a firm. I’m more comfortable working for a small to medium sized outfit like I’m at now. One where I take the routes I see fit, without fear of reprisals. I often have a night out at home, or pop in on the way through. It’s not even on my planners register as the company are not in any way ■■■■. I simply can’t hack faceless plc’s. I was in with my md on Thursday for an hour. Not a bollocking, just a general how’s everything going, what are the drivers concerns, this is what’s going on kind of chat. You don’t get that transparency from a big blue chip. I can’t see the heads of downtons having a coffee with the lowly drivers that keep them in range rovers
For my part I wasn’t chipping into the mob, nothing to do with disliking anyone. I’m with Reef. Hes been given some real duff advice by some… Sure it’s his income source so it’s up to him.
I doubt for 1 second the Beaver thought anyone on here was really giving him any advice, and suspects he is well aware of where the path he is taking will lead him. I’d go further and suggest that he’s already decided that he’s going to move on, the only difference is that probably he’s not that bothered how that happens. It’s not like it’s hard to get a job at present, and it’s not like he was going to be leaving with a glowing reference anyway, so what’s the difference?

Maybe it’s a bit of self realisation in some cases, it has suddenly dawned on them that they would not have the balls to do the same, and are angry with themselves rather than EagerB, so having a pop at him makes them feel better about themselves.

Same here. I do my job but fak if some one raises his voice over me. It gets ugly Very fast.
Once i told off a huge site manager (Whitechapel Hospital London) He had a walk around with another 10 of those manager type fakers.
He shouted i shouted. oh it was nice to tell some one off.
Yes i was banned from that site.
Yes my boss said i was wrong.
But thats about it.
Thinking about it, i was banned (red carded) from 5 sites in 5 years .
I never start first, but if some one shows the attitude towards me boy hes gets a surprise.
