Hey people.

Does anyone know of any companies in either the Glasgow or Edinburgh area that take on newly qualified class 1 drivers?

I start my training next Monday with the test on the Saturday and can’t wait to leave my crap class II job.

Ideally what I want is distance work - being away all week. Do I have a hope in hell of getting that being newly qualified or do I need to wait at least two years?

You’ll probably find a trunking job, involves very little other than driving the same route every day (or night), but at least it’ll get you started. Cant help you with jobs in your area but here in the south there’s usually a fair bit of trunking. I once had a brilliant trunking job from the jobcentre, well paid, easy work, so it’s not all crap jobs at the jobcentre.
