Mr Vain...

MR VAIN:
Hi, I’m doing ok. Still having tearful moments and i’m not looking foward to going to bed.

As marbles posted earlier, Mr Vain has been released and my phone is being posted back to me. They’re happy that they have examined and gained any info they needed. (i guess it would be silly to assume i’m in the clear, although i haven’t been cautioned)

The accident. There is so much i could tell you. I saw everything and have relived the event more times than i care to mention. There were 2 lorries and 4 cars. Some minor injuries and one fatality.

Out of respect for the deceased’s family, thats as much as i will say. There are no photos. Nor will there be photos of the damage to Mr Vain. It would serve no purpose. Please, if by some misfortune that you come accross Mr Vain with accident damage, please avoid the temptation to publish photos.

I’m sorry if this seems a little harsh, but i hope that oneday someone may extend my family the courtesy.

Thanks for all yr kind words and offers of help. You’ve all been of great comfort. Mr V x

Hi all. An update for you. Mr Vain was delivered this afternoon to Roy Humphreys @ Eye in Suffolk on the back of a wrecker. You could be forgiven for thinkin it’s mainly cosmetic damage, but we aren’t sure how much of an impact (if any) was on the front axle. So they’re going to put it on a laser liner just to make sure. Well the downside of the day was to be told that it maybe 4 weeks till i get MrV back (Convoy in 3 weeks) if at all!!!

Anyway, on a lighter note, i called to see a dear and trusted friend on my way home. He told me that he’d got plenty to do tomorrow and that i’d had more than enough time off the road. So tomorrow i’m mobile again. Just a couple of hours each way, nothing too manic.

Once again, thank you all for all yr messages of support and goodwill. Yr a good bunch of guys and i’m proud to be a part of what we have together within TNUK.

Nice to hear my man… One step at a time. Wishing you well.

nah rob you bring the good out in us lot, were all a bunch of miserable so and sos really…big hug from an ugly scotsman in 3 weeks

Good too see your back at it Rob, but take your time fella. You were an experienced driver before the accident and you will still be an experienced driver in a couple of weeks time. The get back on the horse brigade is a load of [zb] it don’t work and won’t stop your head working a thousand miles an hour about what could have been.

I hope for you it works for me it didn’t, but we are all different.

You know I’m thinkin’ about you mate…get in touch if you need owt (but you know that anyway!)

As said by many other members,I don’t know you personally Rob,but feel I do. I am saddened to hear of your unfortunate circumstance. Please take care of yourself, and, what can I say, other than what’s been said already, apart from a great big take it easy and we’re all thinking of you.

Good to hear Rob… :sunglasses:
What you going to be driving?

Only just got home and seen this, best wishes Rob.

I’ve always had a great deal of respect for you Rob, but I have even more now having seen your decision re: posting details/pictures. x.

Yes as everyone else has said Mr Vain, glad ya getting back out in the lorry now take it easy m8ty.

Best of luck in the future Rob.

I saw you on the A38 nr Lichfield Tuesday evening.
The A446 from Bassets Pole down is a nasty piece of road which I normally try to avoid. going the A5 way is just as quick.

Keep yer chin up Rob and dont be feeling guilty about being uninjured,im not a religious person in any way but someone was watching out for you that day - it wasnt your turn so dont wish it on yourself
