I will take a punt that the donkey wants one■■?.The 750 will save time even in the uk for not slowing down going up hills and driven right will still do 9mpg.Now it does look a smart bit of kit and its got none of the tat stuck to it.
Why would I want one? I don’t go anywhere near the Alps, and my pens is large enough.
You dont need it just for the alps it also saves time in the uk.I would rather have the 750 that a gutless DAF in the uk show it a hill and it dies.

Did you not fully read my post, or did you not quite understand it?

First day of work today then. Avonmouth to Tiverton and Bideford so a tidy little run to ease her into a working life! ONWARD

A 750 hp truck too pull a tesco urban tri , what a zb waste

The Tesco work is probably a decent payer for Bull, better to ‘waste’ the 750 pulling an urban trailer for a good rate than pull a heavy load of Baked Beans into an RDC for peanuts… I’m sure the 750 will have it’s uses for the company & likely pay for itself.
Good points. It will do a variety of our work, I’ll normally top and tail the week with Tesco shifts and tramp in the middle of the week, usually up to Scotland and back. The fact is almost no one buys a 750 because they need the power, they buy it for the attention. And they are unsurpassed at getting attention!
What exactly is it that makes it 'grab attention", other than the ‘750’ badge on the door? Or is it that? And how is a 750 better than a 500-600 truck in the uk? Dragging stuff up and down the alps and pyrenees I can understand, and running at 60 tons in Scandinavia, sure. But up and down the M6 to Scotland? With 26tons of baked beans?
What makes any vehicle grab attention? A Ferrari? It just does. I’m not making it up. Even when it was three years old and had long been superceded by the new model my Virginia 750 still turned heads wherever it went. No one buys a 750 because they need the power because no one does need that much, they buy them to make a statement for whatever reason. And what does attention get you? Well for one drivers constantly ringing up looking for jobs, how many companies can say that these days

Sorry Luke, what I meant is, are they different in appearance? Panels, bumpers, that kind of thing. Or is the only difference the badge on the door? The Scania V8, for all its fails, does have a decent exhaust burble.
Not having a dig, just curious.

Nice one Luke, always good to Break a Virgin in [emoji106]
Specially a ■■■■■
(oops sorry big thumb disease [emoji57]) a Volvo

Subtle extras, many of them that add up. Black headlights, chrome features, silver grille, fantastic interior with yellow details on the leather.

I’ll make sure I check that out as I come plowing through the central reservation and planting myself in through your windscreen!
But i’ll have to be quick before I hit the V8 neon sign above the bunk!
Anyway cheers, I wanted to know as well…

Ha, no poncy V8s here (or tacky signs), 16 litres of straight six power in this parish

Excellent, that make’s much more sense now. Apart from the yellow trim bit…

So I’m not pulling off the fanatical truck nut here?
To be fair, with my lack of experience, along with my lack of caring that much makes it quite hard keeping it up at the back!

Scania V8 (only/last V8 still build) (hint, hint) relic from a bygone age, but still popular with those lacking where it really matters.
The bigger the displacement, the more powerful the engine. It’s all about size and cost. Not configuration. Unless it’s a bike…

Cheers, and it’s quite shameful with my background that I don’t care what’s under the hood, as long as it pulls!
I know I’ve already missed the glory days of that, as fuel figures and economy targets are here now…
It’s irrelevant whether a good driver can get the same mpg regardless of the motor, most fleets wouldn’t see the sense.
Until trucks can harvest, store and inject that power when needed, it’s going to be quite boring!
god I miss my turbostar 360bhp

Iveco Turbo 320. First truck I drove over here. H802GJT I think. Twin splitter too. Happy days.
Genuine question your honour re this 750 thing.
You mention hauliers choosing 750hp lorries to make a statement, but to whom?
I can’t see most drivers being anything other than non plussed. It leaves me neutral. I don’t own a lorry so seeing a powerful one doesn’t make me feel anything. The one I get paid to drive goes up hills alright. No lorries are like old Seddons anymore, and it’s not mine anyway. They pay me it goes.
The public would look at a 750 badge equally blankly. It means nothing. That would only suggest its to try and impress haulage owners when the news comes out in commercial motor that xyz is buying a 750. Pretty uninspiring.
Don’t get me wrong, great looking motor they’ve given you. Now that bit does catch my eye. It looks comfortable!

You’re not most drivers though are you. Everyone is different. Just because you don’t see the point doesn’t mean there is no point…
