No probs Mark, its a great thread is this… Here’s some more.
great pics of the s36 fodens hope you have some more.posted some on the butlers quarry thread going to see a ex butlers driver on tuesday hope to get some more photos to upload, anything to do with fodens is fine with me.
Great to see those pics of Selby’s MAN tippers. Most people associate them solely with Foden but they have run a mixed fleet over the years and with the loss of Foden are having to again.
I will come bang up to date with Graham Voss MAN on the A1 last year.
Cheers
Mark
Cracking tipper pics on this thread, keep them coming chaps, old and new.
Cheers Dave.
i saw a lot of selby’s in the early 80s , some of the s80 fodens had a drop down bunk fitted . apparently their fitters made them , steel base with leatherette covered mattress , very professional looking . they were also supplied with a very nice wooden case to hold all their night out kit , the drivers were well looked after , cheers , dave
The Foden tipping at the power station brings back memories for me.I did a few weeks casual work for Fred Sherwood in 1976 hauling fly ash out of a power station near castle donington leics to a nearby land reclamation site…horrible job if I remember it now enough to make a young chap want to emigrate
Thanks for those Seby pics gunnerheskey, excellent.
Here is a Foden of Conning’s coming out the gate.
Anybody know if they are still about?

That one of the line up of S80/83’s is an all time classic! All lined up waiting to tip black on a road job.
I’ve seen another Selby’s Foden tipping black into a Barber Green in one of Pete Daviess photo books. It’s a Haulmaster and a V reg IIRC.
Many thanks for posting the pics mate.
(PS. Did the S39s go on black as well? I see they have insulated bodies)
Nice R-cab Scania easing out of the gate
Here are some more pics of the lorries that used to run out of Mountsorrel!
Sadly no longer… R.I.P all of you
Great pics of Elliot’s, keep em coming
A nice little FL7 in Harry Jordan livery.
They used to run a couple of 6 wheeler, always tidy, always Volvo.
Havent seen them for a while are they still running?
Cheers
Mark
Excellent pics of the Eric Elliott fleet, thanks for those Matt.
Now apologies for this shocking pic, this FH caught me a bit by suprise and I only managed to get a quick (poor) shot off.
It was coming out of Sorrell earlier this week and as it is an unusual FH eigh wheeler I thought it was worth posting.
Not a bad looking bit of kit in GRS blue, but I couldnt help but wonder about the payload !!

Thats a rare looking motor Steve,as you say probably a heavy tare.
Cheers Dave.
the fh cab has no weight penalty as there is little diference with the fm and flat top fh there are one or 2 round this area on 8 wheeler tippers, fintec at leek run them and he tells me that a globetrotter fm cab is heavier than a flat top fh as there is more steel in the fm floor/engine hump for a start and then add a globetrotter top !!
and if you remove the cab there more or less the same truck anyway but volvo wont be the lightest truck to start with as far as payload goes

Hi lads, Does anyone remember Chas Draper (grain in bulk) from saffron road sth wigston. Heres one of his old trailers still earning a crust. Was loading out of our yard on wednesday
This little gem is stored on a farm in hertford where i deliver. It has a Leic reg on, so wondered if anyone has any info on it.
