So then Pete, let’s look at it like this. You’ve jacked on some kind of misguided principle and, it seems, are now on the dole. But had you invested £300 or so on you DCPC you could well have been in a position where your wage might have gone up by a couple of quid an hour, which appears to be a reasonable expectation based on what is posted on here.
So £300 divided by £2 per hour means you’d have paid off your DCPC costs in 150 hours or three weeks’ work, give or take. Everything extra you’d earn after that would be ‘profit’.
Really showing everybody who the smart one is aren’t you…
NewLad:
Just seen an advert for Transline Group offering £210 - £240 a day!
Is the money going bonkers or what?
I’ve also seen an advert for ‘Treasure’ in Grantham offering £160 a day Monday - Friday and £240 on a Sunday!!!
The treasures one caught my eye when looking for jobs, last I heard they were on £8 ish p.h so I’m not sure how they get to the figures quoted ,doesn’t it say up to in advert ,I’m guessing 15 hrs per day, night out money etc ,not for me
I think the wise will use this time to get themselves into as secure proper employment (proper companies pay right and don’t exploit their staff) as they can, might be a few quid down on the headline grabbing figures that won’t last if they ever see it, but come the after Christmas blues and the next inevitable wave of foreigners, it will prove to be the best move for long term for those who want stability.
Dezypete i too think you’ve gone at precisely the wrong moment, but good luck with whatever you do find next.

‘… DCPC … you will find that it wasn’t “the bosses” that brought it in, many didn’t want it either as it brought extra expense and the loss of drivers for days at a time…’
Come on Billy, you know that Brussels dictated to its UK zone that it must comply with the foreign DCPC imposition - whilst not one of the pro-EU politicians or any of their puppet quango agencies squeaked or questioned a word against it: Not even to tailor it for British needs, etc, etc
BillyHunt:
‘…admittedly they are East europeans but you don’t mind that do you? Well done you…’
‘…Mind…?’ Yes! It boils my pee to see UK youngsters seeking an honourable career needing to join us already in it on the ‘race to the bottom’ in an industry now choked with financial migrants.
Too many are using my country to walk over us *‘lazy British’ (*as many although not all do) being helped en-route by your lot of politicians not giving a stuff about Britain’s grass-roots feelings
For every ‘…well done…’ I reckon there’s another bod too disenfranchised with Brussels’ ■■■■ lickers and negative effects found at workplaces to bother getting on
The government will simply not allow driver’s wages to increase to a point where they are stoking top line inflation of goods in the supermarket unduly.
If faced with that problem they will go for the easiest solution which is scrapping dcpc. It can be spun as one in the eye for Europe and making sure the public experiencing no delay getting their grubby mitts on the Chinese tat they’ve bought online. Double win with no complaints from anyone but trainers and their numbers are too small to matter.

Haw haw, HK, you’re like a dog with a bone. You’re wasted on here, the way you cut & paste snippets really deserves a bigger audience, have you tried socialist worker?
In the first “quote” I mention the bosses, by that I mean the people that run transport companies, not the ones that run countries. As far as I’m aware, and I’m sure you’ll correct me if I’m wrong, transport company bosses has nothing to do with bringing in the DCPC.
It’s odd but I don’t recall thousands, hundreds or even dozens of youngsters champing at the bit to get into this industry prior to the EU open border system starting. Now you’re trying to tell me they’ve missed out because the driving jobs they didn’t want have been taken by people willing to do the job.

the money is going up all over the place
as many know i was one of the drivers who refused to get a cpc card and gave up with driving like a lot of other guys who had the guts to make a stand
for all those drivers who went ahead and got there cpc card you dont deserve a single penny of any increase in pay as you had no balls to hold this country to book
the cpc card was the best chance ever for all drivers to have told the bosses no and thought about the bigger picture, there was no way on earth they could replace all the drivers so the country would of had to have backed down
as it is the few of us who made the stand have created a shortfall of experienced drivers hence the money is going up now as they know each year there are not enough drivers coming through so the rates will have to go up for a while now to try to get back to the time when there are to many drivers
anyway not one driver who got his cpc should benefit as they never had the balls, dont give me the i have a mortgage to pay rubbish as there would of been no way anyone would of lost there job if yard by yard all the drivers said no to training. we would all be on at least 20 quid an hour now with over time after 8 as it is things will improve for those good little drivers who did what the bosses wanted and put themselves first makes me sick but thats what drivers are like.
just looking on the forum i have seen many threads all about who is getting paid what ? the little herberts are looking to see if they can make more money all over, the best advice i would give to drivers is keep your gob shut about how much more money your getting to keep them greedy little herberts stuck in there low pay jobs serve them right in my eyes : )

Saw a billboard in a layby just south of Roade in Northants.First one I’ve seen in that particular layby in 6 years !
Advance agency in Northampton offering potential earnings of £850 a week
Now,I know that agencies are prone to a teensy weensy bit of exaggeration on occasion …but it seems that things are looking up somewhat
Advance agency are our sole agency. They are on our basic rate (parity pay) but none of our overtime rates. Although they get VERY slightly enhanced weekend rates.
Now, having said that we do have regular guys from Advance doing 5 days a week on nights doing 12 hour shifts, which if included Sat and Sun would reach the advertised target. I guess it only takes 1 driver a week to earn that to allow them to advertise it.
All this happened a few year ago when the agency men were on so called big bucks then all the companys twigged on and the bubble burst, lets see what happens after christmas eh

listen arse licker
if it wasnt for guys like me who stuck 2 fingers up then there wouldnt be a shortage and you wouldnt get a single penny increase
so the least you can do is say thank you to all the other truckers like me who said enough is enough
i wish many more of the guys would off seen this as the best way forward to improve the conditions for all and simply refused to do the training, there was 5 years warning and if by the last year hardly anyone hadnt done it well then they couldnt force it on us
can you imagine 300,000 driver without a cpc card ? what on earth would happen ?
they would bring in 300,000 imports ? i doubt it
they would sack 300,000 ■■? nope not a chance as they need everyone of them
thankfully there was a decent lot of us who did quit hence there is a ripple now about shortages, but the ones who have there card dont deserve a single penny as they got it be doing nothing but being a good little boy
so enjoy your pay rises lads and who knows you might even get more money than a self stacker or warehouse man ? even fork lift guys earn more at many places
so i hope the wages do go up and if they do increase well i might just go on get a card myself if the money is to good to turn down
and if i do then i will be one of the guys who made it happen and not the guys with there cpc cards in place
thanks for reading and sorry if it gets some so called drivers backs up then so what can you honestly say you deserved any sort of pay rise by going ahead and getting a card ? maybe you think its a loyalty thing lol
Sylvester Services is a safety oriented company currently looking for Class A CDL Drivers and Husband/Wife Teams to transport Frac Sand in Texas. Must have at least 10 years experience trucking, 2 years on Pneumatic Tankers, have a clean background, and be able to pass DOT physical and drug screen. If interested message us here or call 903-535-9391. Drivers are averaging $2,500 per week, 5 weeks out, 1 week off. Late model trucks/trailers, fuel incentive and revenue bonus program. Thank you and have a great day!
Allready Flat Rate VAT. Have been for last year for the nice £1500 bonus…
Rates are very much dependent on area threads on here show that. If £26 per hour invovlves living down sarf ill give it a miss, like a pint and £4+ per pint would make my heart bleed.
Also need to take the per week view, on occasion get offered silly money for one shift which is often a good distance away. A one off and you have to sit around waiting for the next one off which may be days or weeks away. I try to maximise weekly earnings maybee taking a bit less for a bit of solid earnings. Fuel to work also eats into the net, and my time.
Current work is solid on going will only end if they find someone who wants the job full time. Sun - Thurs 3pm starts equivelent of £36k per year (48 weeks taking 5 weeks holiday un paid).
Yes i get no sick pay etc, but i can chose to move on if something better comes up. Having Limited company and VAT reg makes me £3500 better off than equivelent PAYE employee. When push comes to shove what rights do employees really have anyway.
Not Seen any jobs advertised at £36k, if they exist please show me where.
