Money gone crazy?

Just seen an advert for Transline Group offering £210 - £240 a day!

Is the money going bonkers or what?

I’ve also seen an advert for ‘Treasure’ in Grantham offering £160 a day Monday - Friday and £240 on a Sunday!!!

Are you talking about this agency listing?
reed.co.uk/jobs/transline-group/p8893

No mate. It was on indeed website, I didn’t take a detailed look at the advert as it’s not near me (near enough anyway) just saw the headline figures and location.

To be honest, if you do 10 hours it is only 24 per hour…Do a 15 and it is only 16!
Nothing to write home about is it?

I was talking to a scruffy numpty ystdy morning who was bragging he only worked fri,sat ,sun and was on fantastic money on the agency,he then tried to reverse into a ■■■■ easy spot ,hit scratched the front of the unit he was driving then ripped a full mudwing off the trailer a lobbed it in the hedges as if it was the norm :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Round my area mate double figures ph is fantastic money on employed.

the money is going up all over the place
as many know i was one of the drivers who refused to get a cpc card and gave up with driving like a lot of other guys who had the guts to make a stand

for all those drivers who went ahead and got there cpc card you dont deserve a single penny of any increase in pay as you had no balls to hold this country to book

the cpc card was the best chance ever for all drivers to have told the bosses no and thought about the bigger picture, there was no way on earth they could replace all the drivers so the country would of had to have backed down

as it is the few of us who made the stand have created a shortfall of experienced drivers hence the money is going up now as they know each year there are not enough drivers coming through so the rates will have to go up for a while now to try to get back to the time when there are to many drivers

anyway not one driver who got his cpc should benefit as they never had the balls, dont give me the i have a mortgage to pay rubbish as there would of been no way anyone would of lost there job if yard by yard all the drivers said no to training. we would all be on at least 20 quid an hour now with over time after 8 as it is things will improve for those good little drivers who did what the bosses wanted and put themselves first makes me sick but thats what drivers are like.

just looking on the forum i have seen many threads all about who is getting paid what ? the little herberts are looking to see if they can make more money all over, the best advice i would give to drivers is keep your gob shut about how much more money your getting to keep them greedy little herberts stuck in there low pay jobs serve them right in my eyes : )

Someone’s bitter.

very well said indeed squire :sunglasses: you’re on my wavelength  the next few after your post support manchester siteeeee :grimacing: very bitter too
We will get there one day, unfortunately we’ll be on zimmers aged 93 :grimacing:

DCPC had been in for over 2 years when I started driving, bit too late for me to make a stand.

Seems to me some people can afford to retire a bit early or have another careerer to fall back on to pay the bills.
Makes it easier to lambaste other drivers who need to earn money and work for smaller non unionised firms with no protection.

I may be a bit twisted but I am not bitter

Just got in from spending some extra cash I’ve made since the DCPC came in. In my opinion it’s one of the best things to happen to this industry in years, not the way it’s run, it should be a lot harder to pass, but for the effect of getting rid of the dross, the coffin dodgers if you will. The fact it was needed is obvious by he number of topics on the forum about the basics of drivers hours, wtd & my favourite, how do I get to…?
I think you will find that it wasn’t “the bosses” that brought it in, many didn’t want it either as it brought extra expense and the loss of drivers for days at a time.
Thanks for making a stand against it, it’s forced up wages & created work for others, admittedly they are East europeans but you don’t mind that do you? Well done you.
How’s the new trade going?

Thanks for vacating your driving seat for someone more deserving.

I normally feel a touch of sadness when I read about a very experienced driver retiring, for whatever reason. But you are an exception. I hope you find happiness in your own self righteousness, what you end up doing. Sponging off the state probably…

Its only an advert (politicians promise?), haven’t seen any postings from blokes in normal transport actually getting £240 a shift x5 so slotting themselves well over a grand for the week, not including night out pay/ex’s and not self employed.

Anyone found themselves topping £1200 for 5 days (proper companies operating tankers/car transporters excepted), on the books, no nights out, not inc ex’s? thought not.

Saw a billboard in a layby just south of Roade in Northants.First one I’ve seen in that particular layby in 6 years !
Advance agency in Northampton offering potential earnings of £850 a week :open_mouth:
Now,I know that agencies are prone to a teensy weensy bit of exaggeration on occasion  …but it seems that things are looking up somewhat
