I got A Desire HD about 3 weeks ago and I find it a great device. It does have navigation on it and some of it is Tom Tom but I don’t really use it so not sure. I did have a look in the settings and I seem to remember there was an option to choose the vehicle type and truck was one of them.

Is that an HTC?

No.

Who makes a Desire HD apart from HTC ?

Exactly!!!

Yes, indeed.

BTW - I have a personal dislike of anything Apple so wouldn’t dream of having an i-phone

Not a huge fan of apple myself but got an iPhone because it’s the best handset available, no matter how many useless facts before throw at you about other phones!!

My lad has one and it seems very good! I just don’t like the way they (as a company) operate.

cheers chap, i did’nt know that i’ll pass it on .

both my son and my boss have i-phone and i have to be honest here it’s difficult to hold a conversation with either of them because of dropped calls , not sure why . whatever the problem is it’s driving my boss insane , his drops calls for fun .

by the way i know nothing about mobiles , i’m using my son’s old nokia e71 and he keeps trying to get it back . :imp:

You just put a case on the phone if your having signal problems and that solves it.
If it continues then it’s the network that’s the problem

i’ll tell them both . i’ve never used one so i know nowt , they are both on O2 by the way .

It’s because the antenna is on the outside mate. If you hold the phone and cover the bottom left corner signal reduces.
With a case on though it’s not affected.

And apparently I’m the argumentative one…

No you’re not

I have a iphone 3gs and haven’t had any problems at all. My contract with O2 ends soon, i am going to keep this instead of an upgrade. I jailbroke it last year, it unlocks the phone full bluetooth, free apps removes the restrictions installed by apple.

Fanboy alert on this thread

Good android will do. I have used a galaxy s for around a year now and the FREE apps I can put on it and use are handy… FREE…
It can have music easily put onto it and do anything an I phone can and at the time I had it - bigger storage space - better screen and much faster.

I phone ? Meh Fashion accessory.

Had an HTC Desire on 3 for 12 months - excellent
Maps on it very useful

I agree mate. I resisted all models till the iPhone 4 lol
It is quite restrictive as standard so I jailbreak mine to give it much more functionality  oh and free TomTom etc

Typical response that fanboy remark mate.
I’m simply stating facts about the handset, it’s informative to people.
As opposed to saying stuff like ‘android phone is much faster’ when it’s actually not.
You prob don’t even know the hardware stats for your handset to even make the comparison.
Can’t deny that the higher end Android handsets are decent phones though.
I’m not slagging them off, there just as good as each other.

Apple apps were always paid for , maybe with the Android market having an option of free or paying apps then apple had to have a rethink and start making apps available with pay or not paid options.
Considering it’s not something I follow and not looked into since last year then yeah maybe things have changed. At the time I looked into it apple apps were not free.
If they are now then so be it. Still a fashion accessory.

Yeah some people prob do see it as a fashion accessory. I certainly don’t.
Anyway you can’t go wrong with an android or an iPhone in my opinion. There is not really anything one can do that the other can’t.
Just trying to give the info so the guy making a decision as more info to help

If you don’t know ya tech mobile stuff then I wouldn’t try it yourself.
I would have someone do it for you instead.
A jailbroke iPhone is completely unrestricted and you can customise any part of the phone.
If it couldn’t be jailbroken then I would be using a HTC

Network shops is a defo no go.
Other small independent shops may do although I’m not sure I would want them to do mine. Dunno what they would be like if something went wrong.
Think there is people on eBay who do it. You send them your phone though so you would wanna check their feedback first.
I do my own, it’s quite simple, but don’t suggest others do. I don’t wanna be to blame if they did something wrong

If you go on youtube and look up ios4 jailbreak there are videos to show you how to do it. If you are going to do it yourself make sure you follow it exactly or it will not work. When its done you can get paid apps for free. Sat Nav, Games,Music, films anything really.

Ask for the HTC Desire S which runs googles Android instead. Miles better.
