I’ve an iPhone 4 and as long as you don’t plan to make calls on it you’ll be fine, great at everything else, terrible as a phone
You need to go back and read your user manual again.
I like the fact people say something but don’t have a fact to back it up lol
What are you on about? I’ve had an iPhone 4 for a year and it’s a disaster at making calls, I’ve dropped more calls in the last year than I probably have in previous 10.
Oh and the iPhone doesn’t come with a user manual, what did you read?
Google it, I’m not the only one.
Haha check your bookmarks in safari, the manual is there.
Your on about the death grip problem that the media was raving about.
In reality it is not a problem at all, if it is then you hold your phone in a very strange manner.
I’m not at all, it has a case, it’s rubbish at holding on to a network full stop, and anyhow how the hell do you hold yours? It’s the natural way to hold it. The 3GS was a far superior phone and I wish I still had mine.
Are you Steve Jobs by any chance?
Oh and the case removes the so called antenna problem so the lack of signal is down to your network.
Which network are you with?
It’s a perfectly natural way to hold it. And the fact you call it the death grip means you must believe the media hype.

HTC desire is spot on, yes battery life not good but thats because the fone does so much. It’s got superb picture quality and can do anything an I-phone can do plus more.
Does the desire have Market leading iPod software? Nope!
Access to iTunes? Nope?
Free viewing of sky tv over 3G?
Tomtom navigation software?
HGV truck navigation software?
The list goes on…
Plus the desire is not faster than an iPhone.
Oh I get it now. I used to be like you, Apple this Apple that Apple can do no wrong, I love Apple. Not anymore I’m afraid. They dropped a testicle with the iPhone 4 and they know it.
Oh and the iPhone 4 just became the most successful selling handset ever. That’s some testicle to drop eh lol
Joking aside, it’s just technically a better handset.
Obviously some people PREFER different handsets and that’s fine. I’m simply stating some facts to some things people have mentioned.
The original poster is more informed to make a choice then.
I think you’ll notice I’ve not compared it to anything. Just said it’s crap at call but great at everything else and you got all uppity. And yeah of course it’s the best phone because its the best selling, just like Lady GaGa is the greatest artist of the past 10 years. It’s called hype, big numbers doesn’t make something good, just means they are genius at marketing.
Not uppity mate, just don’t agree with what you said that’s all.
That many people don’t buy a rubbish product though, do they?

I’m with Vodafone, I’ve a friend on Orange and one on O2 and one on O2 in Ireland and well all suffer dropped calls if we’re moving.

Oh dear, blah blah blah. The death grip was the phrase that was coined to describe the way to hold the iPhone 4 to create a reduction in signal.
It’s got nothing to do with believing any media hype.
How can it even be suggested that I believe the hype when I’m openly arguing AGAINST there point!!

You must be part of a very small minority then!!
Google it now and see if you can find people still having the signal problem. There won’t be many!!

Thats not much of a list. But anyway for all you have mentioned there is an equivalent for Android phones, although as far as i know there is no HGV truck navigation available for it yet.
I have the Desire S and i’m extremley impressed. I havn’t owned an Iphone but i have used them. I like the whole integration with Google and its apps/docs/maps on the HTC.
Market leading iPod software would only be good for something tied to Apple products i would imagine. The Android will communicate with any USB/wireless media player, (or most, maybe not the Ipod!!) There’s also an app available to migrate your itunes library over to your android fone if you like too !!!
The Desire is not faster than the iPhone ■■

Anyway to echo what some have said you’d be mad to get an iPhone right now, wait to see what the new one holds in store first. That’s what I’m doing. Because as that other gentleman repeatedly (and then called me lacking in knowledge when he can’t read a basic post) missed in my posts the iPhone is a great device they just need to sort the phone end out.

Nope, still as confused
Been looking on Vodafones part of their website for upgrades and Im torn between the Sony Ericson Xperia Play or A HTC…

i have got to agree with the call dropping problem, the iphone 4 has got to be the worst phone i have ever had for dropping calls, when i 1st got the phone it drove me nuts, but i have grown used to it now, its kind of done me a favour as well by giving me lower phone bills as i wait for the other person to call back

I got A Desire HD about 3 weeks ago and I find it a great device. It does have navigation on it and some of it is Tom Tom but I don’t really use it so not sure. I did have a look in the settings and I seem to remember there was an option to choose the vehicle type and truck was one of them.
