I totally understand it can be frustrating being stuck behind a tesco wagon or who ever else, but to see pimpdaddy say “just because their Tesco” is a bit stupid really, Tesco don’t make the laws, they just ask their drivers to not break them.
How is it a bit stupid, it’s tesco that decided to limit it’s trucks to 49mph, not the law-it’s tesco that come up with this fleetboard bonus crap that in turn makes you the drivers drive in an uncourteous manner, NOT THE LAW…
Its the “■■■■ heads” who can only drive with their right boot to the floor regardless, who find that people who get in their way an irritation, they are the ones who tend to drive in a discourteous manner out of frustration or stupidity.

you’ll go far in this industry shame there isn’t more like you
I think those “taking your safety seriously” stickers are part of the annoyance; They can’t just have a sticker with “vehicle limited by law to…” they have that smug, patronising ■■■■■■■■ to make it seem like they care. They don’t, like DHL have those “limited to 85kmh to reduce carbon emissions” stickers, they don’t give a rats’ arse about co2; It’s good advertising to pretend they do.
I’m in favour of those restricted to 40mph signs-I had one on a tipper until I had a day off and some ■■■■■■ ripped it off because if your lorry had one, you had to stick to 40.

A tesco motor that’s goin 49 or 50mph shouldn’t be a problem to you at anytime as it’ll either be on a DC or motorway where you can overtake to your hearts content, so what you said earlier is stupid IMO. Your moaning about something that doesn’t affect you as you should be overtaking and carrying on about your business, but because it’s a tesco motor you decide it’s being a pain in the backside.
As for fleetboard making me drive in a uncourteous manner, how did you come to that opinion?? Fleetboard doesn’t recognise speed restrictions(only a max speed over speed)so your talkin nonsense again fella

It is a problem & the problem is that you don’t realise what happens around you as a result of your inconsiderate driving. I don’t just overtake on m/ways & dual carriageways as you have stated, I have I think first & deal with the prevailing situation accordingly, clearly not all of us do that & that’s where you slow idiots come in potentially causing problems to other road users.
The op mentioned a speed of 37 & somebody else mentioned that it might be because of bonus or whatever & only a tesco driver would know why on fleetboard. I don’t know the ins & outs of your toys & quite frankly I don’t give a zb, all I’m bothered about is getting the job done, my safety & my time, all of which you tesco lot have no concern of.

so driving to the road speed limit is a problem and I’m driving inconsiderately in doing so■■? This coming from someone who obviously speeds and admits to overtaking other artics on s/c’s, unless he’s gonna be a smart arse and now say it’s when he’s in his car which again an artic at 40mph shouldn’t be a problem to a car. As I’ve already said, fleetboard doesn’t monitor speed limit compliance, it just monitors driving style, harsh braking, idle time, over revving etc etc
20,30,40,50,60 & 70 Mph speed limits are just that, limits, not targets. So if someone is doin 37mph, so be it, you won’t be stuck behind them all day so chill out, I don’t travel at 37 mph but if someone is I can’t do a lot about it so don’t get stressed about it.
As for your time, no I’m not really interested in that, it’s none of my business but mine and others safety is my business, so I try to avoid charging around flat out and overtaking on S/C’s and generally driving like an idiot
Pimpdaddy:
Like the title says the way you lot operate is mental torture, simples…
If it is mental torture for you to follow a Tesco wagon then I suggest that you give up driving and seek an alternative career. You are the menace not them.

Maybe for the lads who’ve gotta charge about all day but this job is a lot less stressful where I don’t have to charge about all day compared to my last job, where I had to charge about all day
Any reason why a Tesco driver would not want to collect cardboard waste? I saw one at a Tesco Express garage near me earlier when I was using the cashpoint. He really was not happy doing the shop waste although it looked easy and clean. Maybe a new driver who didn’t realise he had to do backloads?

Can be many reasons why he wouldn’t collect it. Was he tesco or agency ?
Silver_Surfer:
It don’t bother me that they are limited slow. One less ■■■■ who won’t lift off a click or two as you’re overtaking.
Do you base your overtaking descisions on the expectance that the vehicle you’re overtaking will back off to let you in?
I’m interested in this give your other statement to say you don’t do much off motorway driving, where i could see the reason someone may back off to let you in. On the motorway there is not the same need. But you really think someone who does not back off to let you easily into lane one on a motorway is a ■■■■? As opposed to being a ■■■■ by …say…attempting to overtake when you really can’t make it?
Which way do we go with this?
[1] I’m going to overtake here and i hope the guy infront just slows up a bit to let me do it.
Good or Bad ?
[2] Here’s a fella creeping up on me in lane two for the last 15 minutes, i’ll just keep doing my own thing and leave him to it.
Good or Bad?
[3] Or maybe just everyone else who is in your way is a pain in the arse and just needs to get out your way?
What makes me laugh is all the supermarket trucks hauling groceries are governed down to a max speed of 50-52mph yet the supermarket fuel tankers hauling a volatile hazardous liquid are still restricted to 56mph !!!

Some of them are contracted to sensible outfits ie ND, Turners & Stobart for tesco & I think the DAF CFs used by ND actually belong to them (tesco). DHL for Morrison, Sainsbury & Asda, never seen one do more than 52…
Pimpdaddy:- Its a pity we dont know who you work for or where you run out of,so if a job is advertised "Good Drivers" can avoid it like the plague. If you have to drive the way, you give us the impression you have to, it aint worth the bother.
lolipop:
If you have a need to exceed speed limits or your pushed for time then you need to look at WHY
(1)You are either not leaving early enough to enable you to run legal
(2) been delayed in loading /unloading therefore you run late, its not upto you to play catch up
(3) there is something wrong in your scheduling
(4) you have stopped to long in a cafe/layby
30-40 on single 50 on dual 60 motorway these are maximum speeds not minimum,
Computers that determine the scheduling etc don`t have driving licence the Licence is yours not the Companies, lose your Licence lose your job,all the Company will do is replace you
As most off us know the Traffic Clerk who operates the computer and tells you “you can do this or do that” more than likely has no idea, other than what the computer tells him / her
If your paid by the hour WHY speed ■■
The longer it takes the more money I earn.
Drive legal, drive safe.
It’s better to be overtaking a tescos than some unknown truck with a speed limited set to some random amount between 52 & 56.
Second easiest to overtake are Waitrose with their 52’s - but then you come up with the piece de la resistance - the 4x4 driver who insists on cruising at 55 - “to save fuel”. FFS buy a smaller vehicle then!

I know what you’re saying & I know I’m not welcome in this industry, I want out but I can’t find anything else to go to. I drive to the limit on the limit depending on the road, load etc, It works for me, the job & my boss doesn’t complain about it.
