Mayor to block Port Of Calais

I hope to God (or Allah) that Turkey never gets into the EU or I can see the troops of isis trundling through the Alps with their tanks and guns joining the queue at Calais for entry into the UK (and waiting to be joined by their supporters already here and ready for a bloody fight !!!)

Do you think this will, at long last, encourage them to do something about the problem?

bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-29057709

This thread should be shifted to the other one regarding immigrants at Calais, this event is just the beginning of more and more proof that the UK arses in power needs to take drastic action to prevent that scum trying to come here in the fist place !

Who do you mean by them? the french or the British government? if you mean the latter then no as they are too busy supporting the USA and invading countries or bombing the crap out of them to be concerned about trivial things like being overrun with these immigrants , who should be quarantined for Ebola in France, as we and they don’t want an outbreak of that

In the report it said about the French police being armed with sub machine guns, where these guns not loaded? they would of only have to fire a few bursts at them, then the rest would of got the message loud and clear, But good on the ferry crew using the fire hose on the zb’s should of been hooked up to the waste slurry tanks , would of made them smell better too, :grimacing:

IMO if the government won’t take away the attractions (hand outs free health care ) ■■■■ poor immigration policy that is readily exploited everyday costing this county a dam sight more then what the sick and unemployed cost,
then the people should wake up from there sleepwalking & start to do something about it

A few years ago I was taking a ship to Deliskilesi in Turkey and when passing to the south of Sicily a message was broadcast that a refugee boat with approx 350 people on board had been wrecked under the cliffs and that people were in the water, ‘all ships in the area please respond’ very strange that most shipborne radios went very quiet … including mine I must add !

You’ve left me speechless…and not in a good way, not by a long shot. My opinion of you, often a very interesting poster, just plummeted

Aye aye,the Guardian readers have turned up,better get ready to don the hair shirts lads

If not wanting to leave people to drown makes me a Guardian reader then so be it. I clearly put more value on human life than you and the rest of the posters on this page.

As for, rest of post, I asked it on another thread but no one could provide me with proof they get large amounts of benefits, houses etc etc. I’m just sick of this poor poor us whinging Brit thing going on at the moment. Moan moan moan, ‘poor us, they all want to come here and take our money, they never go anywhere else’, they do, Germany and France have tens of thousands more immigrants than us. The British moan like ■■■■■■■ then when the town of Calais wants some help beefing up security around the port we all go ’ it’s your problem, you sort it out’ while muttering ‘bloody frogs’ under our breath. We seem able to find billions to demolish countries and turn them into a living hell causing at least part of this immigration problem yet we can’t help Calais with finding €10m to help them with security. If I was French and had had to put up with the pathetic British ‘its not our problem’ attitude over the years I’d probably want to put them on a bloody ship over here myself.

The french have caused this problem by doing nothing about it for the past decade at least, why should britain send them a cheque for whatever there asking for? it wont change a dam thing,
If the port of calais or any other port needs securing then send our troops to take control of it, then at least the port would be properly secured, unlike if we leave it to the french, they have previous form

And there we have the typical British attitude summed up in one post, ‘its not our problem’ closely followed by ‘send the troops in’. Clueless. With attitudes like that is it any wonder the French rather they got to the UK.

These guys are getting desperate

Luke, if you spent a little less time polishing your truck so you can admire your own reflection in the paintwork, or making videos about how good you or your cab cooking is and read CORRECTLY the post I put up you will see that I said THE ITALIAN NAVY AND A FEW OTHERS WERE NEARER !! for the uneducated what that equates to is that there were people with far better resources much nearer than I had to retrieve any casualties, I hope you can understand that. If I deliberately left any to drown then I am sure I will be judged by my maker not some lorry driver through his rose tinted sunglasses.

And I choose not to reply to it as I had no interest in getting into a debate with you. You tried to look all big man captain in your original post, thinking people would congratulate you for implying you left people to die then backing out with a typical Trucknet ‘that didn’t go as I expected’ post trying to get out of the quagmire you created. It all came across as a man trying to look big and clever then it backfiring and it all looking a bit pathetic. You clearly do care what people think, otherwise you wouldn’t have come back having a go at me like a school child. So well done on that. I finally bit.

‘Chose not to get into a debate with you’ … now there’s a good reply that really means I don’t have a valid response. Na, have never played on the big I am Captain bit cos there was always another ship bigger than mine about, even if it did take me longer and cost a far deal more to get my FG masters certificate than it did you to get your class one lorry ticket. Furthermore if I disliked any replies I get to my posts I would NOT post them in the first instance, things can be learned from constructive criticism did you not know?

You couldn’t make it up. Hilarious. Thanks for making me laugh.

Working, tax paying drivers have human rights too and should be protected whilst performing their duties. We should not be subjected to attack or penalized financially because of the actions of these immigrants in Calais or anywhere else.
On the other hand, none of us have any say where and when we are born. To a large extent these international problems were caused by centuries of exploitation of the majority by a rich and powerfull minority. Now we reap what THEY have sown. Africans and Arabs were around long before us. They were building Pyramids while our ancestors lived in caves.
Now some of us have this superiority complex, mostly those without the experience of travel and other cultures. If the wealth of this world was evenly shared these issues and most wars would end.
Remember that you get the Government and leaders that you voted for so dont blame those less fortunate for our mistakes, past and present. Some of the poorest people on Earth would share their food with a stranger like you.
No, I dont read the guardion either!

I didn’t make it up, would you like to see the course pass certificates I had to get? and in reply to your second quote :- Not a problem at all, as fools laugh most of the time …

I must be missing something, surely sending the troops in now is the perfect response as the current defences are clearly not enough!!

England is by no means the worst hit but at least other countries make their feelings felt!

Our country is a joke, we have no control over who is in/out/coming back from Syria with hate in their mind. And none of us can escape to a proper country because they have actual strict immigration laws. The irony is not lost on me.

.

Is that really your first response? Send in the troops? A more sensible suggestion would be for us to assist the town of Calais in dealing with this situation, we don’t need the army just yet, we just need to stop buying our heads in the sand and pretending is all down to Calais to sort out.

Dear dear, someone is getting uppity. I said over your head, not past it. Quite a common phrase to point out someone has missed the point. Seems you still don’t get the actual point I was making, but no matter. Have a nice day.

And how would that situation be resolved Luke ? in your learned opinion of course !! Over, past or whatever … all the same to us ignoramuses, innit loike?
