Hate London. It’s full of politicians, bankers, immigrant benefit leechers, media tossers and assorted other spivs. :imp:

I think it ■■■■■ in wealth from ghe rest of the country rather than the claimed radiates it out.

I would favour building a massive fence around the inner circumference of the M25 to trap them all in so the rest of us can get on with our lives.

Thats fair enough but what do you actually dislike about driving in london? Do you go there much?

For the umpteenth time on here the circumference of the M25 doesn’t form the borders of London and many of those of us who’ve grown up and lived all our lives in the surrounding counties have good reason to hate the place more than anyone else.Ironically development for London like the M25 being built in the countryside of those counties being one of the reasons for that.

I hope you dont think that you believe i consider enfield and croydon to be london.

Enfield and Croydon are actually both a part of London not surprisingly considering the development policies of the government and Middlesex and Surrey County Councils and their Boroughs before 1965 that turned them into it.However there is still at least plenty of North Surrey which remains within the M25 although Surrey County Council and it’s remaining Boroughs’ continuing development policies show that the government and those councils haven’t learn’t much in the years since. :unamused:

london just like birmingham wich is full of bad drivers of dark skin oringin. i go both places often both ■■■■■■■■■

Londons ok
just dont expect to be able ro rush around

It says ERF not RAF:
Boris didn’t seem to mind about a big fleet of MAN TGX artics crawling through London last summer, bringing everything to a standstill…but then again, they were full of Team GB Olympic Medalist’s.
He’s only interested in trucks if it suits him e.g needing them for building the Olympic Village etc
If trucks aren’t involved in a Publicity Stunt or PR Exercise are he’s not bothered !!

You can bet that there’ll be plenty of exemtions for trucks delivering building materials to turn the place into even more of an urban zb hole than it is now. :smiling_imp:

I think it was this that put him off us.

london is a big steaming dump,i would’nt live there rent free, love it up north for proper fish and chips, fresh air near the seaside and massive houses for the price of a garage in london, slower pace of life, you are only here for a short time, enjoy life without the stresses of that place.

I lived up north once, I shall carry the mental scars to my grave

What i dont get is why people dislike driving in london, you never seem to get a good reason as to why drivers wont or dont want to go there.

I was the same once ‘hate London, hate doing London, don’t wanna go there’. And then I opened my eyes and realised we have one of (in my opinion the) worlds greatest cities on our doorstep and now I spend as much time as I can there. I understand people not liking cities but if you say you hate London then go on holiday to New York then you’re being silly!

Have you ever driven a truck in New York City?!?! I’ve driven trucks in both cities in question and dislike London in a truck and despise New York. On the other hand being a tourst is a different matter in both locations. In reverse, there are places I enjoy going in the truck, that I’d never consider going to on holiday as its all about context.

Maybe it was that bald one off Trucks and Trailers before he worked for Stobarts. He liked a car fishing expedition in London.

Indeed it is about context but I’d wager someone who calls London a filthy ■■■■ hole probably isn’t going to go on holiday there. And for the record I drove a truck in New York delivering to restaurants for 35 years, ‘whadaya mean your parking here, getoutahere’. See.

I think London gets the stick purely because of its huge size and immense amount of truck resrictions that make planning a pain and the actual application of those plans a potential nightmare. Before I started driving trucks at 21 I did a lot of van driving and I thoroughly loved the exhileration of driving in to central London and as such I got sent there all the time because the other two drivers on the firm hated it. I’ve never driven right in the middle of London in a truck but I’ve been far enough in to know I didn’t much like it due to all the hassle, restrictions, impatient car drivers (understatement), lack of parking for tacho breaks when time soon adds up on a digital tacho in the constant stop start grid lock etc.

Keep the loonies and the cyclists happy. Only goods allowed to be transported should be what can fit in the wicker basket on the front of a bicycle. Suggestions welcomed for nominating the collection points. Start with Dover since every route out is uphill.

Trust me if you’ve grown up living near to the place including getting caught up in,and running from,it’s expansion over the years, you’d know that it deserves every bit of stick it gets which in most cases is an understatement of what an urban zb hole it is. Mostly having been run by an arrogant expansionist bunch of tossers like Ken Livingstone and those who preceded him during the formation of the old ‘GLC’.Who acted more or less like an invading army when they barged their way into the surrounding counties, having kicked out their rightful respective local governments during the 1960’s,having already put many of London’s population into the urban sprawl which they’d ordered those authorities to be built on the countryside of those counties.

Ironically there’s probably loads of Londoners who’d agree with that and when they’ve done it they’ll also want to do the same with Sussex,Kent and Hampshire and then Normandy because, just like every other place that they’ve wrecked, they won’t want to stay in the urban zb hole that they’ve built for themselves. :unamused:

It wont happen but just supposing it did i’d be gutted, love driving in london its such an amazing city and always get excited if im given a few drops in or near the centre.

Think you and I might be in a minority of 2 with views like that

I would say that there is more of us. I enjoy driving (vans or trucks) in most big cities I ever been. Just don’t like Warsaw and Sofia.

Hey lads, what about the canals, bring back all the horses and donkeys to haul 26 pallets of “chilled” to Tosco and Sainsbugs■■?!!!

MR Pony won’t be pleased he is carrying he brother around in a meat bag  :smiling_imp:

Houses are cheap in the north for a reason.
I’d take Brixton over Bradford any day.
I can’t see the problem with driving in London if your a driver you should be up to the task.

A lot of people that hate driving in London and moan about the traffic don’t understand bus lanes, they sit in long queues and you can sail past them in the bus lane. Some even try to move over and block you so you can’t get past.

I think some of you northerns must not realise, alot of the money from london goes to outer london area’s up north to support the tossers who like to take drugs and sit on the dole doing nothing like boro newcastle etc cause of the idiots who got the mies shut down … tell london to pay taxes only for them all in london then see the UK suffer as for scotland just rebuild the wall and let them have independence and watch them sink.
