Maritime the last straw

It’s chilling how some here are so eager to bend over, racing headlong to the bottom.

If Maritime have a problem with numpties ramming people up the arse, simple answer stop employing numpties its a complicated alternative, pay the proper rate, treat your people with respect and cherry pick…or do the other thing and continue the downhill event.

it not only maritime though, insurance firms are now starting too insist that they are fitted and give a discount where they are, i just had one fitted too my car and got £75 discount off my premium for the year

I’d rather pay the £75

I fail to see the issue of the camera being on you when your driving! Unless your acting unprofessionally then you deserve to be taken to task

And this is the argument used in every single invasion of privacy known.

Your internet is now being recorded 100% of the time - but, it’s not a problem if you’ve got nothing to hide is it?

:unamused:

The biggest mass market ISP’s and mobile providers yes but many of the smaller ones are not required to do this, Government have drafted a bill so that they can log and store details of every web site visited they will have to store this data for 12mths

They are also attempting to bring in this RevK®'s ramblings: Government still think there are "communication providers"

Are they going to fit a proper system with multiple cameras and sound simultaneously recording the exterior forwards, backwards, sideways, downwards etc so that the driver camera is in context? or are they just going for the cheapie tonka-toy option? If they are going for the cheapie then there is a good reason for objection.

I’m sorry but I’d be gone if this happened at my place.
You can bet all the drivers will have to sign for this new rule and will do without all getting together and saying look no,this is not on and we arn’t happy, they will sign the price of paper and then moan between each other that it’s not fair them been watched…
Driver facing cameras are a joke and NO driver should accept them.

No they won’t our place would be empty

No they won’t our place would be empty

that’s what everyone says and as soon as push comes to shove nobody walks. Ever so typical.

So presumably, if you weren’t doing anything wrong, you’d have no objection to cameras being installed in the toilet so you could be filmed while you were having a dump?

So if someone takes me up the arse and I happen to be pouring a cup of tea from me flask at the time and this footage is passed on to insurers would I be more at fault.

One constant in life I have found is that those who say they have nothing to hide often have the most they want hidden.

The old George Orwell cliche comes to mind but there has to be a line drawn somewhere or folks start to realise that their beleif of living in a free country is laughable at best.

Dont think id have any issues with cameras really as I have nothing to hide.
That my friends is the desive argument because logic dictates that if I think something is ok then it definately isnt.

So what are the Maritime drivers doing about this?

my company have said this when they get new trucks pity there not going to win the contract and as said before i wont work for said cameras as its breaking privacy rights

Like most they’ll just bend over and take it

A few of our class 2’s have them. All of them have been covered with stickers.

but there has to be a line drawn

here we have the line problem again are you from yorkshire

We had them when I worked for Comet. Mine was triggered when I yelled C U next Tuesday at some div on the M5! The TM called me in and showed me the footage. My co driver was laughing his ■■■■■■■■ off on the screen too.

It’s definitely a red line for me. I would walk out of the door at any company where I worked who had this system installed.
