Last week I’m sure switchlogic had to use the hard shoulder on the 25 for his 9 off need to be done for 7 too, no chance at this rate! Not seen a copper all day either been in it since half 9 this Mornin!

I did indeed, was 10 hours by the time I bothered to get up. As many of you know I drive an Irish truck so VOSA like persecuting us. I got a £200 fine from them in Kent last month for the sake of 15 minutes last month so sod them I’m stopping on hard shoulder. At least if Police move me they can sign the printout. The authorities over zealous policing of the rules is causing more problems than it solves. I see more and more people taking 45 mins on hard shoulders after traffic now. I for one won’t be taking any chances from now on, and if that means a rest on the hard shoulder because the Highways Agency have ballsed up so be it.

Apart from said bloke who’s gonna have to explain why he’s woken up already tipped! :smiling_imp:

I was only joking. Besides, he had a mean padlock. :stuck_out_tongue:

There were 4 of us spent the night in lane 2 of the A725. I woke up at 6.30 by the sway of something going past. I pulled the curtains to find that i’m on my own and traffic is filing past in lane 1. Ah, time to move then.

From there down to the M74 it was an obstacle course picking your way around abandoned cars and truckers who like me had parked where they stood last night. The M74 was just lined with cars and trucks on the hard shoulder. Hundreds of em.

I’ve just got to my 2nd drop in Glasgow 22hrs after i left the 1st in East Kilbride.

Last week in France we were parked up because of snow and no sooner had we parked up than the French Red Cross turned up with a small packet of sandwiches and biscuits followed by the Gendarmes with a container of coffee who actually returned next morning with more coffee before we were able to move on,on a road that had been cleared overnight. You guys parked up in Scotland what has the Scottish Red Cross brought you for your breakfast??

Is there a Scottish Red Cross?

I think that answers your question.

Don’t blame you one bit mate. I couldnt even get to the hard shoulder lane 2 moved at about 1 mph for a couple of hours lane 1 was total gridlock!! By the time I cleared the traffic the hard shoulder was about a foot deep in snow there’s no way I would of got off it in the morning so I just thought balls to it and cracked on to cairn lodge. 9 and a half hours drive. 17.5 hour shift :frowning:

this is getting 2 mins at most on sky  . if this was down south the softie brigade would be going mad :imp: :unamused:

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, thank god I’m done! It was bad enough driving for a living in this weather blowed if I’m going to now I don’t have to!
Good luck guys, just make sure you get through to Morrisons or Lidl’s in Felixstowe for supplies, you know the necessities of life, tea, milk, porridge, bread etc, and I don’t even care if Stobarts (spit, spit) deliver the stuff.

South of Perth the roads are murder but just about passible, north of perth they are fine still icey but fine. Roundabout the bellshill area where i have just came from is chaos especially in the righead :open_mouth:

im driving for nampak over the other side past MAN. it was bad enough on sunday night so i really am dreading tonight, especially the A80 which the news is reporting as one of the worst places but there is no real alternative from falkirk. cheers for the info

On BBC news specialists are putting ‘‘a large part of the blame’’ on hauliers for chaos due to jackknifes :unamused:

Heard it all now :unamused:

End of days weather, forecast of 1-3 centimetres of snow which turned out to be a foot , diddies in charge of our transport system no go a large part to play in this :imp:

I sick and tired of listening to this transport minister, id love to smash his ■■■■ in. ‘‘we’ll learn lessons’’ same old pish ya prick!
