M74 Car Park

been on the phone to strathclyde police to see if there is any dispensation for parking at hamilton services…there answer…we dont know!!..does anyone know for defo what the score is down there with regard to parking on the hard shoulder outside services?.

Strathclyde Police have given me an incident number to cover my situation and told me to carry on till I can find safe parking.

Abandonded M74 / A725 and am now stuck on M73 trying to get off Junc 2A into industrial estate.

The thing was I rang the police basically begging them to let me sleep on hard shoulder!

I am knackered! Done 17 hours shift so far and it doesn’t look like being over soon!

Feel sorry for you boys up there; Just wondering, what happens if someone with a day cab gets caught like you blokes? Are you excused for sleeping in the cab?

Personally, I wouldn’t take any notice of the ‘Old Bill’. Just do what YOU feel is the best for YOU.

i think the standard drill is to abandon the truck and book into a hotel at the tight arsed hauliers expense

Just been on the BBC news the army has been brought in to help.

In the past the relaxation in tacho rules was there was none, rules that is, apart from a 45 min break after 4 and a half hrs driving, an extra hour aint gonna help any one.

by doing what exactly? the government do like to call upon our armed forces in times of crisis. the ploughs and gritters cant get the roads clear so call in the army to do the job with their presumably specialist de-icing equipment

i think a lot of cold soldiers will be standing around thinking WTF am i meant to do about it

Army are providing 4x4 support to the scottish ambulance service

I have escaped the crazyness on a side road in Gartcosh! 17-5 hour shift time for food and bed!

you know what would be better, get a few of these to run up and down the motorway clearing it up.

it may take most of the day but it does the job

I’m goosed 17.5 hour shift. Made it to cairn lodge its packed on here so they’ve jammed 4 of us up round the back where the coach overspill is. I achieved the square root of eff all today. All as I’ve done is take 20 tones of dog food for a ride. Load was cancelled after about 3 hours of umming and arring! Was told to turn round and take it back to Carlisle. Easier said than done. Glad it’s over now though. Bed time! Cheers chaps!
