the thing to remember with this horrific accident it could so easily have been conected to any of us one of us could of been driving that farmfoods moter or it could of been one of our relatives that was in the minibus off for a weekend away
i think it kind of shows lack of sympothy when people come on here making assumptions on what happened its not our place to we are not accident investigaters,i think it would be far more dignified if people just kept there thoughts to themselves imagine it was your son or father driving that farmfoods lorry and you reead on here it was his bad driving etc etc its his fault bla bla bla
stay safe every one and lets all act like decent human beings

It is a forum. It is for discussions and giving opinions although there are certainly some that go over the top sometimes and dare I say it some that really do not have a clue what they are talking about but we are all entitled to our opinion whether it be right or wrong.

MIDDAY NEWS SATURDAY . . .

“HGV Driver released on Police bail pending further enquiries.”

Just announced on news that the driver has been released on bail.

There are probably only 2 people who know what actually happened, the minibus driver and the truck driver. Oh and they only arrest you for one reason is total crock, one reason they arrest people not because they are guilty but so as to question them under caution,JUST IN CASE IT WAS THERE FAULT.

A tragedy. someone lost their life who’s to blame we don’t know .

To anyone who knew the 18yr old my condolences and anyone who knows any of the injured parties a speedy recovery which will have some physiological scaring for some time.

For the drivers involved what ever happened tell nothing but the truth and facts cause if you lie you can be sure its gonna bite u on the ■■■ …

Total crock is it? So from your point of view they will not be questioning the minibus driver? And again from your point of view it can’t be the minibus drivers fault so who’s fault was it?

The Sarge:
Just announced on news that the driver has been released on bail.

Any news about what he was arrested for or if he’s been charged with an offence?

"Eye Witness Grace Winter saw the crash from her office and said,

The Farmfoods vehicle appeared to tip over into the Mercedes minibus, which
then careered off the road and onto its side."

i was travelling on the a5 near shrewsbury on wednesday, when up ahead i spot a tracter in lane 1.so im in the mirrors...looking for a gap to pull into. i see my gap, behind a crew cab type transit van,and as it passes i notice men sat in the back.i pull out into lane 2,checking my mirrors as i do so...i then look forward and all i see is brake lights. the van has proper slammed on,and vitually stopped. ill be honest…i thought i was going to hit him,and for the life of me,i still cant believe how quick the truck stopped. the reason he stopped, was because there was a rolled up tarpaulin in the road. there was actually no need for him to brake heaviliy, because there was plenty of room to go around it...but thats all irrellivant know.
2 days later this happens, and it makes me think just how lucky i was, given the similarity of the 2 events.
if i had been looking in the mirror for a fraction of a second longer it could have been me in that farm food truck(if you know what i mean).
i got away with it this time…i might not be so lucky next time…there might not even be a next time, but it just goes to show how your life can completly change…in the blink of an eye,an also how a tiny bit of luck can change the consequences dramatically.
i`m sat here nursing a mild hangover…whilst the farm food driver has just got out of nick :frowning: life eh

But not exactly idiot proof. They don’t differentiate the exiting A road from the continuing motorway using colour coding and the arrows aren’t exactly in plain view and like the colour coding mix up the continuing motorway with the exiting A road. While from a distance and the signing is too close to the actual exit.

maps.google.com/?ieUTF8&ll=50.61 … 4,0,13.63

You’re talking about a completely different stretch of motorway. :unamused:

What it actually shows is the difference between the way in which a seperate lane/s for an exiting junction ‘should be’ signed using some French common sense v the way in which it shouldn’t as in this case being that shows the actual signs approaching the actual junction in question.

Regardless of what actually happened in this case,at least looking into the way we sign our motorways might at least cut down on the ‘possibility’ of accidents involving traffic getting in the wrong exit lanes and then cutting back onto the motorway in front of approaching traffic. :bulb:

We dont know exacly know what’s happened yet but i think it’s
significant that it’s happened just after the lanes split.

Could the mini bus have cut back across the chevrons after realising that
he/she was in the wrong lane ■■? ive seen that happen lots of times.

YES . . . That’s the favoured speculation amongst Professionals on this site.

IF SO, it’s a bit of rough justice to “arrest” the truck driver - he must be
going through hell and wondering why he decided to work on a Friday.

So in addition to the first set of confusing signs the idiots then go one better by putting in another repeat lot that are totally useless unless they intend traffic to start getting into the correct lanes at that point. In which case the signs as they are at that point could actually contribute to a crossover type accident,by causing someone who’s in the wrong exit lane,to cross back onto the motorway at around that point when they realise their mistake. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I believe that we all have had nearmisses. That’s when you go ‘-Holy [zb]!’, and start thinking… Then realize that it all happened just over a second’s time. Then carry on more experienced… I really feel for them, the drivers, the victim’s family, the other ladies…

This is the exact type of scenario why i think people are wrong to judge an accident in the black and white opinion of “if you run up the back of them it’s your fault” when it’s clearly not.

This is why I disagree with the word “incident” they are accidents not incidents. No one goes out to crash on purpose, therefor it’s an accident.

I must back that :-/ this is a forum and that’s why forums were invented by the Romans or Greeks? (whatever) INNIT?

^ This.But.You need to make sure that you’ve got sufficient seperation distance to allow for an emergency stop in relation to both the vehicle you’re about to overtake and also the one you’re going to be behind during and after a lane change.Although that obviously wouldn’t apply in the case of someone else making a lane change ahead who’s cut in front at a too low speed to be able to avoid the inevitable collision.

Where the hell did I say it can`t be the minibus drivers fault, what I said was that they arrest people to question them under caution. Now please get down of your high horse before you get a nose bleed.

maybe the minibus driver is in a bad way?

Will that mini bus have tacho in it i thought if so many seats they had to be fitted but never had anything to do with them so could be wrong.
Hope the injured make a speedy recovery and deepest sympathy to the family of the fataly injured girl

But it would have been commonrail’s fault because he wasn’t looking were he was going, he was more interested in were he had been.

I wonder if everybody in the minibus had their seatbelts on, or is it the case, that the hen-party had already started in the minibus and there were several people out of their seats, drinking, chatting and having a good time. So they would have had no chance in a collision. So sad. :frowning:
