Gotta Love this one thoughthere will be overnight stays no allowance payable for this as will be sleeping in vehicle.
Blimey, not even night-out money?
That’s the only thing that makes the wages up to burger-flippers’ money!

Sounds like the sort of thing you’d do if you’d just passed your test and wanted to get all the damage/getting lost/take an hour to get it on the bay stuff done before you got a proper job.
Yes, and have a look into their yard, tight entrance and not much room to move
You do realise it’s the yard on the other side of the road don’t you?

Location GILLINGHAM, KENT ME8
Duration PermanentDescription
Previous cleaning experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. Duties will involve cleaning of toilets and showers, mopping of floors, emptying bins, vacuuming and all associated tasks within a leisure environment.
And an unskilled cleaner as well!
But as we are now back in recession can anybody afford to pay high like they did in the 80/90’s
They are still going keeping people in work ok not the best paying but who fault is that depends on there night out money meal allowance etc which may make the pay up & as it is now an employes market as supply has out striped demand they can offer that
So what an analog tacho not the end of the world some drivers I know would prefer it, is the lorry well serviced well maintained fit for the job clean tidy as you are not paying the bill for it then unfortunately you have to drive what the boss buys
It is better than £65.00 per week on ESA & jobseekers is less
Yep it would be nice to have more pay but if the rate the boss is getting has not gone up then he may not be able to afford to pay much more
No I dont agree with the wage but please look at the bigger picture of things
So in a Nutshell Angie it’s better to have low wages than nothing because the boss aint got the common sense to make his rates sensible thereby keeping everyone in the same boat of struggling?
If a boss is struggling to make a profit and maintain his vehicles proplerly etc in your eyes thats ok because at least theres drivers not on the dole
For all you know many of the low wage companies could be making a good income but have the attitude of to hell with the drivers they are two a penny, if they dont like the wage someone else will hence the reason the industry is in the state it is.

Angie, Drivers should not have to rely on night out money or meal allowances to make wages up, simple as that, as long as these companies are around undercutting rates just for work at the expense of drivers welfare and wages things will never change moreso if your happy to let them get away with it even though you do not agree with it.
It’s time that the EU set a minimum rate and ensured everyone stuck to it, ridding the industry of the cowboy operators running up debts to then dissappear leaving other companies struggling to get back on their feet.

This is true not really happy but unfortunately that is the world we live in & the UK has slipped back into recession
so they will use that as an excuse

Yep but the big boys have cut the rate so much as you know it is hard for anyone
£66 a week is better than £65. Should I take the attitude £66 is better than £65 and be bloody grateful?

of course you should
Come on you know many on here agree that every driver should be on Min wage or less, pay for their own CPC, Medicals, ADR, HIAB etc etc.
also if you dont live with walking distance, you will also have to pay fuel / public transport to get there too
Every person must not argue the facts that the Directors get richer and the worker gets poorer and further in debt one way or another
Cleaners must be paid more than HGV drivers as they may wipe someones ■■■ (Name with held just in case he offers me a job as his ■■■ wipe) btw No thanks
But sod ya if you disagree with these guys who want the above to happen, and watch out for the cronies attack this post, you will see them gather together now, but then again, probably not as they have to rub their little brain cells together before they can decide who will reply 1st
Oi, Hand me the plate now
