My Drivers all attained their Licenses when the costs were far less than they are today. My Drivers do not work Night Shifts. Our Drivers are covered by Insurance for any theft of cargo whilst in their care. I could kill someone in my car if I do not drive professionaly.

For all the new entrant’s to the industry who have invested a lot of time and money into gaining the highly valued vocational licence I wish you all good luck and safe trips and can assure you that not all employers will devalue your personal investment in such a callous and brazen way.

The fact that some misguided drivers will work for that rate does not make it right, fair or decent. Drivers do a professional job, often in difficult circumstances. If you understood that, rather than treating them as an expendable business necessity, you would treat them with more respect.
At no point have you been able to put forward a convincing argument for the derisory wage structure you have, simply because there isn’t one. One or two drivers on here may agree with you, but they are the drivers that are happy to work for poor money and that think £260/week with a few quid for minding a lorry in a layby all night is a good wage. They can’t see past the tax man, and don’t realise that their penison, sick pay, holiday pay is much reduced because their wage is actually much smaller than they realise.
I wish the drivers that work for you all the best - they really deserve a break if they are as good as you say they are.
Please give them one and pay them what their efforts that help to pay YOUR wage merits.

Maybe because we run a multi Business from our Premises
On a two week system,
week one its Carlisle to Birmingham and back, 1800 - 0600 with an hours break and 2 hours POA a night
week two its Carlisle to Manchester and back, 1800 - 0300 with an hours break and another 2 hours POA a night but I have to tip myself when I get back.
Love it! the Crusader could still give a good account of its self on the road now(along with it’s much maligned stablemate the Marathon) a bit thirsty by todays standards but capable of good journey times,B/L not British Leyland but Before Limiter
Seems like it Bigvern1. I reckon this will go on for a long time but will encourage our Drivers to enrol and have their input when they return to base.

OK think that’s game, set and match to me Once again you have shown how arrogant and patronising you are. Not once have I criticised your drivers or your company and I have only been very slightly critical of you because you have been unable to show where in any of my post’s I have said any of the things you keep accusing me of saying. Wouldn’t be surprised if you provide your drivers with secondhand IPad’s and a £5.00 bonus at Xmas to register on here to tell us how wrong we all are and that £6.20per hr is the new top rate and it’s great and we all need to get with the programme and live the dream
