Lorry drivers wanted for new TV show

That bloke who does the holland and barret adverts (Gerrin Garrin or something) did exactly this on telivision around a year ago, he also did hiss class3 test and slept in a services. He was and still is in my mind a knob, and he also made lorry drivers look like they only get 2 hours sleep at night and are an accident waiting to happen.
I dont drink hot drinks, 75% of drinks2 i have are red bulls, i play a lot of video games dont want to be on telly and you can shove your offer, it will all be negative, anyone who reads your questions can tell that.

It always makes me laugh/cringe with embarrassment when someone from outside the industry comes on here to ask something from us so called “Professional” lorry drivers and virtually every time they do they get the same childish, unfunny and some totally unrelated remarks

Maybe times have changed, but I am sure many of us can remember the days when TV companies only came here looking for truck drivers to set up and show in the worst possible light.

If they have changed, then I am sure they will understand if we are a little cautious until we can be sure of that.

tell you what,
plonk me in front of xbox360 with 8 cans of carling and test my prowness on cod mw, (up to 6 cans then im crap)

I can totally understand that Harry, but most of those programmes don’t seem to feature us,they are programmes made about us,showing all the bad ones and the nasty accidents we cause and how much of a liability we are, made by people with no inside knowledge beefing it up with a few more people who know nothing to make a factually inaccurate load of ■■■■.
Carl,I saw that programme too with that excuse for a journalist, the bloke should be hung!!!

This request ‘seems’ quite reasonable imho,it doesn’t seem to be a programme focused on the industry (as such)and us evil, killer wagon drivers!!!..I just don’t see why EVERYTIME a post like this comes up,people have to be childish about it,sniping at the OP,I understand this is a forum but if you’re not interested then don’t apply for it.

Actually, there has been a sea change among TV folk since “Eddie Stobart Trucks and Trailers”, TV people are notorious for their herd mentality and will now be queueing up to make a programme in which the breathless narrator can say in his most anxious voice “Will Terry get his 26 tonnes of bricks to Travis Perkins at his scheduled time of 0800 or will he be 10 minutes late■■?” :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

or will driver X finish all 852 pages of A Feast for Crows before his return load is cleared to leave the bay

there was someone ells doing a TV think on hear during last summer

why lorry drivers though?

why not the european courier whos had 3 hours kip in 48 hours?

why not the sales rep pepping himself up on redbull as he flys 200 odd miles between meetings

how about the middle aged caravanner whos ploughing on regardless as its his first day on holiday and his not missing his first night on the site.

because truck drivers are easy pickings thats why, so defend production company all you want, sign up yourself and lets see the outcome bikermonkey?

if i recall the last documentry that showed drivers in a good light was destination doha…

i find amphetamine sulphate more effective than overpriced caffeine drinks

Who’s going to pick up the pieces after we all become diabetics after necking al those energy drinks in such a short period??

Anyone think of that??

Not for me thanks.

Until I/we see a really genuine tv proramme that’s shows people of what we really have to put up with, I don’t blame members on here taking the pish out of producers asking… do you this…? do you that…? well here’s you big break into TV.

Trucks and Trailers was just a advertising gimmick.

‘Do you want to play games and comsume huge amounts of sugar and caffine’ sounds dodgy to me!!

If it was ITV1’s Tonight programme asking to do a doc’ from our point of view, on maybe why the industry’s going ■■■■ up then I would think about it.

But not this, it sounds seedy and cheap!!

Too many tv companies are looking for drivers to take part in filming, but it is not always what it seems. As the secretary of our Lady Truck Drivers UK Club, I have been asked many times to give names. I will only give details of my members with their permission and of course if they wish to take part.

Bloody women should’nt be allowed on our dam roads !! STAY IN THE KITCHEN WHERE YOU BELONG !!

There are many people that shouldn’t be allowed on our roads not just women. :unamused: Now get back in the kitchen and shut up moaning :unamused:

Do I notice a wee bit of sexism creeping into this all male dominated domain of the trucking fraternity ?

Reading your words, you have no idea of how the media machine works.
The media machine is only there to sensationalise every aspect of the world, to make it more attractive and exciting to the plebs. And in their pursuance of this, everyone and thing is fair game, no matter what the consequences are.
They feed off the ignorance of others and turn them into victims or at times celebrities…More often than not, it is the victim status that prevails, but I would also say that a celebrity is also a victim of sorts.
There are no winners in this awful media industry, unless you count money as your prime objective, but if you are doing this, you have sadly missed the reason for being alive, so perhaps you deserve all what it is that you are chasing  (This last comment is aimed at wannabes)

It is a sad state of affairs, but it is reality.

Maybe if other drivers offered to help, instead of oggling her ■■■■ and sniggering she’d have a chance. :unamused:

■■■ knows we’ve all had days when we couldn’t hit a bay. Oh and none of us ever make any mistakes do we?!? @rseh0les.

Everyone should be cut a bit of slack and give newbies a hand instead of ostracising them just because of their gender, how ■■■■■ pathetic :imp:

We do not need more programmes showing up truckers in a bad light, what we need is more real shows that show real life… like Jeremy Kyle, because look at the fine upstanding citizens there are on that one.
