Long Distance Van Work

Safest way to steer but other methods are also safe

At least some instructor who do not claims that his way is the only way  I will still stick to my own opinion, especially that I have some people on mi side who know a bit about driving, like this guy, European Rally Champion: youtu.be/32BgnL63nbw?t=27m55s

I use PP for 99.99% of the time so it must be easy cos I can do it

Yeah, from my observation most people who can’t drive use that method

Both the DSA and the advanced driving organisations do not now insist on PP but do insist that the vehicle is under full control at all times

Different methods are recommended for various situations bit in general PP is the SAFEST method out of all the options

How it is the safest, if you constantly changing position of your hand on the wheel, in result keeping it only with one hand for most of the time?

Both hands are, for the majority of the time, on the wheel if not always gripping it

I only grip with one hand but have both on the wheel and when steering they slide around the wheel - that means I never need to move a hand from elsewhere to the wheel should I need to

PP also allows me to change or increase direction at any time without having to change grip placement first

This is hard to explain so if near Leicester at any time please PM me and I will give a demo

When at speed, I will stick to my Marian Bublewicz school of driving I linked you before… The guy won European Rally Championship, I guess he knows how to steer at speed not only in theory

Steering differs for rally/race track driving and on road driving - comparing the two is 100% pointless

Google - youtube chris gilbert for on road driving

Yes. Of course. On the road you need to steer securely, be able to quickly change your direction if anything happens and you need to be in control of your vehicle 100% of the time. As we all know, in rallies it is compeltely opposite :grimacing: :grimacing:

 hijacked

Yep. Somebodies not been holding the steering wheel in the correct way and we’ve drifted off course

Good job i’m too busy to give a ■■■■

Sorry, you obviously have me confused with carryfast. Long lectures on the alternative universe economy or history are his speciality

Actually a lot of Poles flew Spitfires for us in WW2, but not many people seem to remember, or even know that…

Apparently it caused a big stink at the time. Allegedly the Polish pilots were working for 2 shillings an hour less than the British pilots and some had flying licences they obtained by merely flying a glider around the block as opposed to the British pilots who’d paid over £25 to a training school for their licences.

To add insult to injury Flt Lt “winky” Bartholemew claimed that the Poles were sleeping 12 to a hut whereas the British drew the line at 8!

hihi
