Long Distance Van Work

the maoster:

DAF95XF:
Actually a lot of Poles flew Spitfires for us in WW2, but not many people seem to remember, or even know that…

Apparently it caused a big stink at the time. Allegedly the Polish pilots were working for 2 shillings an hour less than the British pilots and some had flying licences they obtained by merely flying a glider around the block as opposed to the British pilots who’d paid over £25 to a training school for their licences.

To add insult to injury Flt Lt “winky” Bartholemew claimed that the Poles were sleeping 12 to a hut whereas the British drew the line at 8!

would that be a chalk line ■■

No different to now then come over here drive trucks cheaper, after driving a tractor. How much do we pay for our licences. Funny how history repeats its self.

I see you didn’t get the really quite witty joke then?

He is right, history repeats itself. After all most of that Polish pilots who were driving your planes for penauts were coming from Romania

as when Poland was attacked from West and East by Germans and Soviets, that was the only way left to get out from the country

The Red Baron was polish too! :sunglasses: Johnny lad keep plugging away pal, as the only person to stop you IS YOU! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: good luck

Cheers mate, It’s all clicking into place with any luck. I sort of have a start, not driving vans but it is driving sort of :grimacing: Just have to bide my time and try play my cards right. But I won’t say anyything until it’s on paper, signed and it’s happening! Persistence does pay off and somewhat showing it can be done without the help of dad etc. Not because I wouldn’t like the help but because it’s more rewarding knowing I went out there and earned what I set out to get! :sunglasses:

Cheers

Jonny :sunglasses:

Good luck…

And then, there are jobs like this: jobsearch.direct.gov.uk/GetJob. … =28&AVSDM=

Maybe it’s something for you?

And here is something with opportunity to gain truck license:

jobsearch.direct.gov.uk/GetJob. … =22&AVSDM=

Only problem with them orys is the distance from where i live in Yorkshire to get there otherwise either one would’ve been ideal! Especially the bottom one! Will soon have something here eventually

Cheers

Jonny :sunglasses:

well, I moved over 2000 km to Glasgow for work, arriving by hitchhiking with 150 pounds in my pocket, surely if you have no ties, you can drive 4 hours up north in your car?

Anyway, I just thought that it might give you some new ideas of the job search. Good luck!
