no offence or nothing but i had to sell my beloved ■■■■■■ rs2000 van which i built and took to shows to fund my hgv license and now your telling me that lay abouts can get the tax payers to pay for it its not fair in my opinion
Yes but has to stay on dole until October to get funding so no real incentive to go find work on that one is there but hey cannot blame the kid for playing the system just think the system stinks you had to sell something most of us have had to save up all around the £2K area

Not all people on state benefit are lay abouts obviously, i see exactly what you are saying but at least there is people who are actully searching to better themselfs instead of sitting on there butts there whole life…

im not saying he is a layabout i wish him all the best of luck i just think there is no incentive to go out and earn to save

Law says I need to live on £106 a fortnight. For owning a car, having to pay insurance and monthly payments as well as buy myself things and save for a course all at once is not plausible.

not a moan but i think he has a point.
I was brought up to earn what i have today and i am grateful with what i got, a good home, good wife and many more things

Err a car is not a necessity. You sign on for money to live, which is fair enough, not for your car payments and insurance.

Err i know it isn’t. But still, I’m not complaining that I don’t receive enough money to pay for what I have and get a course funded for me in return, i’m very grateful.
Sam,
you thought of getting Peter smyth to give you a quote for training he has started the Guarenteed pass and will give you free accomodation
PM him he will see you right.

I have mate, his monthly payments are £368.75 and I can’t afford this unfortunately. Not to worry though like I say, it’s being funded now which is absolutely brilliant.
Another great waste of taxpayers money.
edit; nvm not worth it.
Sam, take whatever you can get, never mind the negative posts regarding your free training, because we all know they would turn it down if it were on offer to them
dont we? And the best of luck

Of course they would !!! like bitter old women in here, minority are anyway!!
Get used to being called ‘kiddo’ if you get on the road, I am only 26 now and got my class one when I was 17 and every company I have worked at I have been the ‘kiddo’, I dont mind it though myself, get to wind up the ‘oldies’ as a bit of payback. I am on the tankers now so dont get too many people on the wind up now, especially when they see I am carrying toxic!
Let’s get a couple of things straight on here, since some ■■■■■ are so far up their own arse they look down their nose at you.
When I said I had my course paid for me after only being on the dole a couple of weeks; what I was told was that I qualify for training for work, and they would send my forms away after being on the job centre for 13 weeks.
Secondly, I paid enough into the tax system to fund my own course when I was working (I was too young to sit it at the time). I worked from the week I left school to just shy of about 3 months ago now. I’m not a bloody laze around and nor am I a waste of tax payers money. I more than put enough into the system to at least have something in return.
It’s about time the people on here realize they aren’t gods gift and some of actually need help with something now on then, it would be a different story if you were all in my position.
I can fully understand why you’re angry, but take it out on the government if you’re not happy with the system and the way it works, it’s not my fault i’m in the position I am. It’s not like I’ve sat around like a lazy ■■■■■■■ since leaving school a few years ago and scrounged off the dole. I worked, like I said, up until a few months. Do I have a problem with the way the system is? no. Do I have a problem with scroungers and junkies and all the rest of it getting training like this? yes. I think you need to distinguish the difference between someone decent, wanting to do something with their life rather than a ■■■■■■■ lunatic who is a waste of space and money.

In other news, I had a phone call from the company today providing my training. The lady was very nice, and more than helpful (unlike some ) and said that the only thing I will need to pay for is resits, as far as everything else goes, medical, provisional etc it will all be provided for me.
