The Unemployed in WALES can get a grant from the Welsh assembly ,for free carpets ,washing machine, fridge, cooker, tumble dryer, etc etc from Euronics …the lazy bugger should get a bloody job Really boils my ■■■■ … Get it all paid for …
If you think it’s so good on benefits why do you work
MuddaTruckka:
I find it highly unlikely that the dole would make it compulsory for a person to become an lgv driver , were not all suited or have the confidence to drive lorry’s.
No they don’t… but certainly if you expressed an interest in becoming a LGV driver, what conditions did they attached and how many re-tested are they paying for… there’s got to be some sort of limit.
All Id say is recently had a mate made redundant from a plumbing firm in the North, needed his qualification / licence renewed to work on gas boilers to make him a better chance of finding employment etc etc and yet he was refused training, then for weeks he was bitched at about not applying for enough jobs… in his word why would I, a qualified plumber apply for jobs stacking selves at a supermarket ? and all he got was you should be applying for anything …so there is something broken in the system
Some interesting comments. The dole or whatever you want to call it,is there for people who genuinely cannot secure employment.
Anyone who has an injury, illness or disability should be helped out as I would wish for my family and I should I be in that unfortunate position. People who don’t really try and secure employment should be left to fend for themselves. If they are weak enough to resort to crime, then there is a justice system in place and its their call.
Regarding comments about me being sore about shelling out for my licenses,if you read the post, you should be intelligent enough to detect the hint of sarcasm.
I have too much pride to scavenge and beg. That’s why I signed up for the military years ago. Nature is full of scavengers,be it animals or humans.
A lot of people have not factored in housing benefit and other top-ups associated with the £70 per week or whatever it is,so its not just a fortnightly payment that the taxpayer has to bear. Its a shame people haven’t got the bottle or the strength to do crappy jobs and lift themselves out of a poor situation.
Any able bodied man or woman in this country who claim benefits should be made to work for their benefits. There is enough litter strewn around our land to keep an army of ten million unemployed busy. It is good, honest labour and nothing to be sneered at. It would also give the claimant a sense of “belonging” and of being part of something. It will also boost their self esteem and dignity as being long term unemployed must have a mentally debilitating effect. It’s a win, win situation that will instill the ethos of working into the mind of the claimant who in 99% of cases does not deserve to be on the scrapheap.

If it was that simple, it would’ve been implemented years ago.
I bet those on community payback, feel really privileged to be giving something back, and turning their back on a life of crime.

Genius, because people in prison don’t cost taxpayers money…
I’d never begrudge anyone getting a leg up to help them back into work, or get into a home. Best of luck to them. Soon enough there will be a different employment du jour, for them to train for.
A mate of mine has a 4 bed house, got his LGV through a local trust to train people under 25 who were out of employment. So what?
I got my LGV paid for by my previous employer . Does it mean I’m not as deserving of a job in the in industry because I didn’t purchase it myself? Of course not…
It doesn’t matter what industry you are involved in. There can be 1 or 100000 people that can do the same job as you, if you are working as hard as you can and effectively as you can, chances are, you won’t be out of work.
D-ya not?:

:
It really is that simple. Honestly it is. The only reason it hasn’t been implemented is because politicians think only in four year lumps, have little or no discernable backbone, and once in office think only of feathering their own nests and buliding their own little empires.
I have no doubt whatsoever that the overwhelming majority of claimants would like nothing more than to engage in some sort of work, if only to distance themselves from the scum we see clogging every high street with a dog on a string and drinking Special Brew at 10am, also it’d stop them watching Jeremy Kyle and shouting at the fat people! Okay, I made that last bit up, but I’m sure you get the picture.
Most claimants only need a small helping hand and I firmly believe community projects would give them that.

I agree with the principle of getting people back into work, and it’s true politicians are careful of upsetting the unemployed vote.
But the idea of getting the long term unemployed into work via litter picking, and for them to actually see it as beneficial,is only a pipe dream, most of them,(the career jobless) are far to smart to get involved in any of that.
stevejones:
well says it all really when u got people on here actually boasting to working people that they are a dole cheating lieing ba…ard no wonder the once gr8 uk is a 2nd class nation . just glad i dont live near said dole cheating f…ers
Well mate seeing as I was the only one ‘boasting’ even if it was tongue in cheek (glad to see the more intelligent realised this) I assume that is aimed at me. I aint going to explain or justify to you what I done all those years ago (btw. Were YOU even paying tax in 1979) mainly as it has ■■■■ all to do with you, but suffice to say it was a means to an end.
I have no conscience about it as the amount of tax revenue I have paid out since then as a driver, owner driver, and small fleet owner far outweighs the £300 or whatever it was at that time.
If it was not aimed at me then fair play, but if it was …just watch who you are calling a cheating lying bstard, and at the same time…Swivel on it!

I feel the need to let off some steam and/or ask esteemed opinions.
I have just read on the newbie forum that a member is having their training and tests etc funded by the DWP.
Is this a wind-up or does anyone have any knowledge of this nonsense? If true,i wish someone could have told me to go on the dole and get them to pay for me to become a LGV driver.
My family and I would be £2500 ish better off.
I reckon I’m on delicate ground here having revealed how I got my Class 1, but did you really pay 2 and a half grand that is bloody shocking. Fair play to you mate if you wanted to be a driver that much, but I reckon you could have invested it in something more lucrative.
Could you not have got it in the Army or went in the TA and got it after you came out of the Regulars.
As I say mate I aint knocking you it just sounds a lot of cash to get a ■■■■ job.and you did ask for opinions.
Actually I’m going to bow out gracefully now as I’ve just realised that the taxpayer paid for mine too. I did have to wear flowery trousers and drive an Antar once I got it though, but still taxpayer funded.
Anyone want to find fault with that last post? Any scroungers? Anyone?
Yes . i posted that my health was the reasons for quitting the building trade, became unemployed and took the funded LGV coarse after 20 years of paying tax and you called me a scrounger
your full of sh’t , you stereotype every person that is unemployed as a scrounger
what a clown!
robroy:

Thats about right. I paid around £2500 for my C+E. I have always wanted to drice artics and it was a no brainer for me. Yes,its a lot of money and could have been better invested but in my opinion there’s more to a job than how much money you can make and if im going to be working in said job for the next 40 years I want to enjoy what im doing. And going against the trucknet grain,Im in the small percentage that enjoys my job. The odd bad day like everyone else when I want to park up and go home (no sleeping bag you see or id kip where I was! )but 90% of the time Im happy just me,radio 1 and the open road.
