But please come and work for me you can take your truck to truckfest
Ummm bit risky mentioning Truckfest eh.
Mr Shuttle’ must of missed that. :
I’m a [zb] [zb] stirrer
Right i’m off to fetch me tin 'at.
why would that bother me?
i have met JOBE at various events, and we do not have a problem, in fact, at Newark Truckfest 2013, i was parked right next to their trucks and had a good chat with JOBE himself
if you are going to try and stir the ■■■■, it might help if you had the ■■■■ to stir in the first place
Tipper Tom:
^[1]. I wouldn’t put my (their) lorry in the hands of a truck wash I’d much rather do it myself
^^+1. I drive for DHL, the depot where i am hasnt even got a hose, let alone a proper wash, (this is one of the reasons im looking for another job) we do have accounts at a few places, as im on days, there are only 2 places i can go, and the job they do is absolutley crap, maybe ok if they charged £5, but for what they charge it really is diabolical.
I would do mine myself if i could, as anyone who knows me would testify, i have spent countless hours in the yard quite happily (previous jobs) washing down on a weekend.
I’ve always thought it was the drivers job to wash his truck, but I might be out of touch with this modern logistics thinking. it seems that drivers now, not only don’t load or unload their truck or change light bulbs, they now don’t wash the truck either. What with auto boxes and adaptive cruise control, some must only really point them in the general direction of where they supposed to go.

As my cab has a wrap the boss doesn’t want it going through the commercial washes as the other wagons do so I usually use the jet wash (no soap ) on a Friday evening when the yard is empty then bang an hour on my time sheet as told to do.
Donutuk you are the type of driver that would not get on at JOBE I can’t believe you think you should not have to wash your truck properly at the yard at the end of a working week.I still drive most weeks the job with digi cards microwaves and fridges has never been so easy and yes I do wash my truck when I get back after a HARD weeks work.(don’t know how manage I’m exhursted).I currently have 9 very good drivers who like the trucks clean and tidy and manage to wash them after a very hard week at work.Yes if you have been with me for sometime you get a say in what truck you want and that is why we have so many shiny V8.Yes we all work hard max hours if we have the work and away all week wages are what the job pays same if you just started or been here 9 years we are equals not numbers.so like I said if you don’t want to work hard or clean your truck don’t bother asking for a job.Donutuk don’t reply with a load of bollo*cks and waste your time on commenting on a job u clearly don’t want.
I have explained the job and conditions twice and like I say you don’t have to take it.
Never easy feel free to spell check lol

Not sure where you got the idea I was in any way interested in a job?
I have 2 days left before my digi card gets put into hibernation, for hopefully a long long time.
I used to see Jobe trucks kicking around back when I was pulling for Estron and know nothing about the company but from what’s been said on here it seems like any normal small firm in that line of work. A no nonsense, get on with the job type of place and unfortunately in modern Britain, that doesn’t appeal to most drivers because in my opinion the past 10 years has seen huge institutionalisation of the driving work force in to what can only be described as number crunching jobsworths with all their CPC this, POA that and “Working Time” the other and how this or that can’t be done because it’ll interfere with their 17 week reference period or because their CPC trainer said it was illegal etc.
The company I used to work for doing the ferry trailer occasionally get these institutionalised drivers and they never lasted because they thought they were worth more money than they really were. Tipping on a loading dock for 5 hours and then pulling on to the road for a 45 minute break, might be fine and dandy in planet jobsworth but its no good when the trailer misses the boat to Rotterdam or Esbjerg as a result.
The only thing that would annoy me personally would be to wash the truck on a Saturday. All fine and good if I’ve run in on a Saturday but I certainly would not want to make a special trip in to work for it if I’d got back late on a Friday evening. I believe in doing all I can during the week to get the job done but my time off is my own.
bigmandan:
Just seen a job advertised for them what are they like to work for
From what I’ve read here they sound good . You want to work then you’ll get a decent truck and decent pay , you want to take the ■■■■ and drain company resources don’t bother . Far too many people want everything on a plate ,then their arses wiping afterwards .Steps off his soap box
Not having a dig, but can’t understand why a lot of firms plaster their wagons with loads of lights when a majority rarely leave the motorway?
For the record jobe sounds like any normal small outfit. I’d be happy to work there. Although wages are a tad low for my liking. Body long commute from here though!
I’ve found some of the laziest moaning toss bags I work with are the ex army brigade. Got a pension and a licence. Don’t need to work but want every penny that I can grab without working for it fannies.
We deliver to a lot of growers with dark yards and no lights so we drop trailers off and shine the lights at the back to see what we are doing in the back of the trailer. But i do also have them fitted because i like them.

I wasn’t referring to you by the way. Just a lot of the fridge outfits have a thousand lights on the front to drive from warehouse to warehouse.

My mistake SS it wasn’t Truckfest was it, It was Snetterton

Me sorry just my sense of humour
Truckfest was a few years previous, some old bird, toilet facilities. :
Anyway i’ll go, and let the thread get back on course. .
> n17 trucker: > > jessicas dad: > > non of the depots gives a toss about the drivers, they have those style trucks for the maritime aftersales market. its the only place that you can order a top of the range scania and have it tomorrow. > > > > i wonder how many drivers they would have if the ran daf cf’s or renault premiums. > > > Been with Maritime over a year now treat me ok good relationship with the office,JD are your comments based on personal experience or just hearsay ?seems to me Maritme turning into the new Stobarts…love or hate em it’s a decent job on all fronts I do’nt take zb and get on fine it’s like any job you get back what you put in make it work for you. It’s not rocket science
they all get there in the end, some just take longer than others
Ha ha I’ll give you that accept my sincere apologies
n17 trucker: I left Maritime in sept my first experience of working for a so called blue chip employer absolute nightmare. I only stayed cos I had 9 points and was unemployable elsewhere. as soon as they disappeared I was off. I now work for a smallish company 55-60 trucks where the 2 owners work the desk and chat to you every time your back in the yard. I’m now a name again and not a number. Had a mate who worked for Jobe 4-5 years ago and had no complaints from him ain’t seen him in a while so not sure if he’s still there ?. but as for washing Wagons we got someone who comes in at the weekend and does em suits me fine
and you had a go at me for slagging maritime off.
to be fair though JD, you only lasted a week and a half there, n17 trucker lasted a lot longer
