Jobe transport ltd

Fight fight fight fight

Well I didn’t expect all this the escalate into this. I was just wondering what Jobe was like to work for. What I can gather if you do as asked you won’t have a problem with Jobe. As for washing your truck down if I was going to live in it for a week I’d like a clean unit thats just me.

n17 trucker:
I left Maritime in sept my first experience of working for a so called blue chip employer absolute nightmare. I only stayed cos I had 9 points and was unemployable elsewhere. as soon as they disappeared I was off. I now work for a smallish company 55-60 trucks where the 2 owners work the desk and chat to you every time your back in the yard. I’m now a name again and not a number. Had a mate who worked for Jobe 4-5 years ago and had no complaints from him ain’t seen him in a while so not sure if he’s still there ?. but as for washing Wagons we got someone who comes in at the weekend and does em suits me fine

and you had a go at me for slagging maritime off.

to be fair though JD, you only lasted a week and a half there, n17 trucker lasted a lot longer

I lasted about 4mths, and they sacked me, I didn’t walk.

I didn’t think the job was any better or any worse than any other I’ve done to be honest, but the planners / middle management did think they owned you and you wasn’t just an employee out to pay the bills.
My final straw was on a Friday evening, just parked up after the weeks tramping, in office to see what I’m doing next week…
Them: “You’re on Sunday at 3pm on a taut”
Me: “No I’m ■■■■■■■ not, I’m away Sunday, we don’t do Sundays, and if you want me to do 1 you’ll have to give me some notice, not just drop it on me on a Friday night”
Them: “You’re on Sunday, if I say you’re on Sunday.”
Me: “I’ll ring you Sunday night then when you realise I’m not here Sunday afternoon to see what I’m doing Monday”

Muppet :smiling_imp:

But, now we’re seriously off topic, not even in the same county

JOBE, welcome to TrucknetUK :grimacing:

That sort of ■■■■ poor man management approach annoys the ■■■■ out of me also.
Now that I am off Euro work, where it is part of the course, I don’t like working weekends either, preferring to spend and catch up on a bit of lost time with my family.
They would get the same response from me also, where as bearing in mind that civility costs nothing, if they had asked first if I was free Sunday well fair enough , or something along the lines of we are stuck for a driver on Sunday, can you help out, well then I certainly would.
Some of these ignorant ■■■■■■■ s think that you should be grateful for a job and take that sort of ■■■■ from them for the privilege of working for them, well that aint for me, they are that thick that they cannot see that their sort of treatment is counter productive, the pompous ■■■■ s :smiling_imp:

Thats nothing. i know for fact of 1 driver who started with marmite who got as far as Cambridge on the way to Hams hall got so sick of being tracked and being called asking how is progress was he said “watch the screen” promptly turned around and dumped it back in Felixstowe.

Drivingmissdipsy I take it you don’t want the job
Shame I would have washed the truck for you .

Never easy Mr jobby

Cheers Mr Jobby, when do I start? :grimacing:

ASAP

Thought you said you didn’t want a job :open_mouth:

Having watched you defend your self with a sense of humour I’ve got to say if I was in your neck of the woods I’d be probably apply, fair play to you Mr Jobe!

Well Jobe, well defended.
Happy New Year
& I agree driver washes truck
Not everyone gets a no thanks letter, in fact very few do.

Above opinion is from life experience not as OD.
only 1 truck & I wash it every night with a telescopic brush & soapy water, then jet off, sweep floor of cab daily, only hovered once in 7 months (day cab)

Jobe (Brian) well done again & good luck with the business.

Best bit was the job was filled before this started on here.

Never easy

i agree, i think jobe started badly on this thread but has done a remarkable job of turning it around… not quite up to whitewhitewhite’s standard though

to be right honest jobe sounds like the type of job i would enjoy and if it was my area i would have no hesitation in applying for a job.

its the type of job you have to think on your feet and get your hands dirty none off this holding your hand ■■■■■ footing around type of firm.

i have met some of jobe’s drivers at truckfest and the one’s i met were really approchable freindly and happy with their jobs.

IIRC, you have done that type of work before, and didn’t last 2 weeks before you cried off :unamused:

Went for an interview a few years ago on a Saturday morning guys were in yard washing down trucks looked good from what I remember wages was about £20 pw below par, but what ■■■■■■ me off was that he got me to fill in application took license details etc and all the time we were talking he kept stopping to talk to other drivers etc was not impressed with his attitude said he would be in touch but not to my surprise I never heard anything more so I count my self lucky i didn’t have to work for him, his lose my gain.

Washing trucks on a Saturday morning have drivers know home to go to?

Part of the job to wash the truck when back at the end of the week

Sorry to disappoint you all…

No need to be sorry you just showed what you are like to work for, still i’d like to wish you good luck for 2014…but I can’t

JOBE:
Well happy new year to most of you

Ref: Tacho’s and washing down all drivers leave there cards in until washed down and yes you must wash down at the end of every week as told at busy interview.
Wages are always displayed on adverts your choice if you want to work for the money or not.My choice if i want to employ you.The job doesn’t suit a lot of people and most of the time you can pick this up at the interview stage. Now Mr Hoss1960 as told at your interview which at the start i told you Saturdays are very busy and I would get interrupted by the phone or drivers and my attitude is as anybody that knows me will tell you is to the point and no [zb]. Which then brings me to the point that we tried to ring you to tell you that you did not get the job but the number you left did not ring and you did not call back we then wrote to you at address supplied we can do no more of which you failed to put in your original post. All applicants that do not get the position there details are destroyed because i will not be needing them again.

So if you would like to work for me and do come to a interview i will answer the phone if it rings i will speak to when spoken to by my drivers and i don’t employ [zb] Money is what it is, Job is what it is and wont change for you or your wife and if you can’t work hard you wont last. I run very good equipment well taxed, well Tyre’d and well serviced ( every 4 weeks not like most ). So if your a good driver and clean we will get on great if you are not we won’t so don’t come for the job, Remember i don’t make you take the pay or the job.

Nevereasy

hoss1960:
One thing to say to you, your a [zb], I had no letter etc but I have heard from previous drivers about the way you bully the drivers who cant stand up for them selves good job you didn’t try that with me I am led to understand that’s its hard to talk with no teeth noob

OH!!! FFS another 3 pages :unamused: you just couldn’t let it drop :smiling_imp:
