If only you’d have been the father of the 16 year old girl of my own age who gave me the cold shoulder in the 1970’s because she was dating a divorced bloke of 46 at the time and for me the rest was history and he’s still happily married to her over 35 years later.

If you had married the girl of your dreams all those years ago who is to say that it would have been an eternally happy union, then if it then went wrong and you split up you would feel worse about it than you do now.
I was with my second attempt at getting it right for about 11 years (I think) and to me that was perfection with a thriving light haulage company under my belt, money in the bank and a 4 year old XJ6 as a runaround but one day she decided her first love was to the business & general expenses bank account (plus cash in hand jobs money) and ■■■■■■ off with the lot.
