Its coming tonight, the new generation Scania

The new one looks like a hino :open_mouth:

Reminds me of the face Rimmer makes in Red Dwarf

Gruesome looking especially in White!

better with black grill…but only just

It’s the shaped white plastic part of the grill with “scania” on. It doesn’t look right in my opinion.

As mentioned before this new model needs a sun visor as they seems to improve the look going off that earlier picture.

I don’t mind it but I don’t love it. There is just something slightly off with the exterior design.

I really don’t like the new steering wheel either, it’s meant to be round (as in a wheel) is that too hard a concept ffs?

Reminds me of the old Mk (4 or 5) transits with their egg shaped wheels, anyone else remember them? Even Ford had the sense to eventually drop them on the Mk 6’s!

Austin Allegro!
For older members that one.

Too much grille on the Scania for me.

Be interesting to see one in a Stobbarts Wrap?

Now with a sun visor and light bar, that would look smart. I really think they’re like an fh4 and an MP4 merc, the colour scheme and accessories make or break them. I really like the interior, very luxury car feel, probably a lot of vw influence there, so it’s all about the outside styling for me.

Ive no doubt they will look better once they are done up a bit but the square roof ruins it for me if they kept a similar shape to the old topline it would have made it and where’s the sun visor? Don’t tell me they don’t come with one :open_mouth:

Visor is an optional extra , but then why should it be free? :open_mouth: :open_mouth: They need all the revenue they can get as I reckon this truck unless it’s priced right will not sell well.

Hauliers paid a premium for Scanias as we all know , will it continue with this model?

They will still have the build quality in them and still be going strong in ten years time and when it’s time to sell they hold their value well and that alone is usually worth the premium.
I think they will still sell as well as ever though apart from the looks it sounds like a fantastic lorry to live in and drive. the Renault t range was an eyesore when it came out first but it sold very well everyone just sort of gets used to how they look.

Heard on the grapevine that the a new R450 topline is another 30k over the current shape R450 topline.

First Ive seen side by side

Wow, that’s ugly. Their designers should be shot.

FH4 all the way.

Square roof on the outside = More storage inside.
Personally I don`t much care about the outside appearance. (yeah, with a face made for radio, I would say that). Drivability, and interior come before any worries about the looks of the thing.

Hallelujah, at last someone else realises its a working tool, thats all it is.

It looks OK, OK?, thats all it needs to look like.

Yup I’ve reliably heard that too (from someone who runs trucks). If true that’s insane, Scanias were already too expensive
