Speaking to a couple of truck transporter drivers… Next issue is moving them. The S series topliner measures in at 13.8. The standard low loader they use are 3ft from road to load bed.
And at the moment the topliner’s can only be carried backwards with the steer axle wheels on the beaver tail to bring them in low enough…
You mean 3.8 metres I take it? I dare say someone will be looking into how to deliver them. Either wheels off or like big dump trucks with little delivery only wheels.
Sorry, forgot the ft and in… 13ft and 8in tall without the air kit.
The drivers were saying that it’ll be 16ft 8in when it’s on one of the company’s standard low loader.
The said companys drivers think the best option is going to be using the roflo truck transporters they have…

Saw two on the back of a WS low loader today (sans air kit) and whilst they’ll never be the belle of the ball I think they actually look better in the flesh than in the photographs.
At least they ain’t as pug ugly as the T range! If I had to drive one of them I’d pull my side curtains across to avoid catching a glimpse of it in a shop window!

Is this the end of the “Scania Beauties” thread in the photos forum?.
Probably not, I’ve always taken this title with a hint of satirical sarcasm, a bit like “feel the raw power of a mobility scooter”!
Lets face it Scania stopped being Beauties when they bought the rights to use Rowntrees jelly moulds, why else do you think the first thing the fanboys do is chuck mountains of chrome, LED’s and airbrushing at them?
A picture of one with a sunvisor on, it does improve it a lot but I still reckon they dropped a bollock with everything above the sunvisor though, still not convinced on those mid level rear view mirror retina burners either…
But the shape of those cab pod lights is just weird, they don’t fit the rest of the looks, they look completely out of place imo

Best picture I’ve seen of one yet.

Think the most interesting bit is 500BHP with SCR only. No EGR has got to be a massive selling point
R series looks ok, and with paint will be better.
Not sure about roof lights, no I am, there rubbish
S Series mmmmm not convinced by a long way
Although you can get SCR only with an Iveco, ok maybe different markets.
It seems with the S series they used the regulations for cab size to the full, but having looked round other flat floor cabs, I’m not sure if you really need to go to the full 4m, unless your engine is so high you need it to get a usable flat floor.
I actually prefer to not have a totally flat floor. I like the Volvo with the very slightly raised middle floor section. It means dust and dirt from boots stays in footwell where it belongs and doesn’t get spread all over

Yep not a fan either. as long as you can stand up in it, that’s fine by me.
Well the last Egr 6 pot I’ve seen was a 61 plate, and the last v8 I saw was a 56 plate, so if they still offer them, I can’t think of anyone that has taken them
