Now you’ve said it it does look like a bin lorry. They’ve made a bloody Dennis!
Have they nicked the mirrors from a Renault T Range?
How long before some ■■■■ paints the steering wheel white, or fits the chrome “super” badge on the grille?
Cab inspired by Dennis Eagle I think.
so they gave the 3 series a new front end and a new steering wheel…
did they let stevie wonder design it?
Am i missing something here, since when has the styling of a commercial vehicle been what appears to be the most important issue.

Clearly you’re missing a lot if aesthetics (whether a truck a car or a sculpture) means nothing to you.

It isn’t but currently it’s the only thing we have to talk about since none of us have driven it yet

Depends on where you’re coming from, if I’m running a company and you have a product that will cost me less and save me more operating it, than the competing products, I don’t think I’d worry if it was so pig ugly it scared small children, with the money it saved I could buy something that pleased my eye.
But as somebody who actually likes trucks then yes I’d like something that looks good, but a lot of the reaction to the looks is shock of the new, it won’t be long before they common enough for people to be used to the look of them.
And anyway spending money on something purely because it looked good has been the ruination of many a man.
It’s like a daf and scania have had ■■■ in some backstreet garage and given birth to a dafnia.
To be honest I’ve never been a fan of scania and probably never will. They’ve been left for dead in the last decade by the other manufactures and I don’t see this new gen helping them.
They should just concentrate on their vulgar clothing range and leave the truck making to Volvo, Mercedes and Daf.

Well said that man .

Is that a photo or a screen grab from the new Grand Theft Auto? It looks like something from a early 2000s computer game.

0Spot the difference?
The green one looks more modern.
I don’t have anything particularly against the current Scania to look at. The proof of this particular pudding will be in the driving. If they have finally centered everything up so that someone with a bit more belly than a swimsuit model isn’t sitting at a cocked angle and doing his back in, they may have a truck that appeals because the inside looks as good as anything else out there. The outside however is very disappointing. Its like someone phoned the designer and told em what a Show spec Scania looks like. I suppose the saving grace for anyone driving one is that you don’t see the outside when you are sat behind the wheel.

Out of office reply.
I’m on annual leave at the moment in V8Ville until the 7/09/2016.
Please note all replies to new gen Scania based jibes will be dealt with on my return.
Regards R143-500.
Eww. Its all boxy… Still, everyone moaned about how ugly the T series was when that first launched.

That looks much better than the bloody purple ones they were showing off

It just looks… Wrong. What is going on the mirror stuck to the front panel just above the screen? Its like they made the designer use only a ruler.
It’s nice to see they’ve put the front viewing mirror inside the wiper arc, so you can actually see through it this time…
Oh wait

It is ugly, but not as ugly as the C range that is used on tippers. It looks unfinished, and is not just ugly but fugly.
A hell of a lot of negativity on here for a new truck.
what is wrong with you lot, some of you are actually serious!
The problem is that we are all spoiled rotten these days, a truck today is basically a bigger car and there is no longer a chalk and cheese type marked severe difference from driving one as there used to be.
Result is that drivers expect higher standards bordering on perfection (which is not a bad thing for us btw) so they tend to knock everything that is new and judge them (very)harshly.
As for me I would love a one as long as it was comfortable, roomy, made the job (even) easier, and had enough facilities for me to live in.
If it does look like a bin lorry as Luke says (with his tongue in his cheek I reckon ) or any other knock from the rest of you, I would not care, it’s a working vehicle and I aint a ‘‘look at me in my biiiiig truck’’ poser type of ■■■■ (as the odd one or two on this thread come across as btw no names etc etc.
)
So, to sum up what I have said, and put in a nutshell and some kind of sensible perspective…Think yourselves lucky we no longer have to spend weeks away in a ■■■■ day cabbed ERF armed with a board and 3 sleeping bags to keep warm.
So based on that synopsis…
OR
Some of you ■■■■ s do not know you are born .
Apologies for going into Oldfart mode btw.
So Scania, having run out of Olympic cabs, has bought up all the old stock DAF super space cab roofs… I’ve seen more aerodynamic breeze blocks.
