@Glory Hole… may I ask what the accident was and whether you actually remember it and keep reliving it or it’s more random flashbacks.
Pretty serious this as you seem out of kilter a bit and perhaps further investigation into any long lasting damage may be worthwhile.
As far as your job goes, do it or don’t do it the choice is yours.
Never hurts to do a bit of yard work, getting to know the yard lads could pay dividends unless your a complete twunt… 
But when some of the now old hands on here when they were newbies maybe didn’t think they deserved to be treated with kid gloves and given the earth and all the goodies and considered they were experienced before the ink was even dry on the new pink slips … 
I’d of just sacked you for calling in sick on the second day.

Think even now with 25 + years experience and at least 4 successfull reverses under me belt a bit of yard work wouldn’t be beneath me especially if just starting a new gig.

When the big boys are not being nice to me at work I get my mum to write a note. This usually works for me.
I’m concerned, as any troll worth their salt knows their posts have to be semi-believable, and this is well off the chart.

Shunting is a great start to improve your reversing skills, and your delusion about being able to reverse on the grounds your trainer said your test reverse was excellent is laughable. You don’t even know what a blindside reverse is for a start! Does that not tell you something?
I actually hope you are for real, as you’re going to fall flat on your face tomorrow. So with that in mind, I really hope you come back on and eat your humble pie, as we’d all love to hear about it…
P.S. That is if you still have a job tomorrow morning, as if your gaffer has seen your posts and attitude, I’d put money on them sacking you the second you turn up tomorrow!

All your driving license proves is that you’ve met the minimum skill requirements. Nothing more. As with most jobs, you’ve now got to PROVE you exceed those requirements and are worth employing.
As for shunting, my first job saw me stuck in the yard shunting trailers for a week. I saw it as an opportunity to practice my reversing on full pay!
Out of interest, did you pass in an artic or wag n drag?
