Aldi were looking for driver’s at Goldthorpe on nights £12.68 per hour, for that you had to load the truck, unload it and put in warehouse at the store, reload any rubbish cages etc, same at the next store, go back unload all the crap do the usual diesel up etc., just think of the wages they save in staff if the driver is doing three men’s jobs, never bothered applying, too late now mind you as I am knackered.Lidl works the same way, probably why 75% of our drivers are east european. We do get UK drivers start but they don’t usually last long.

So, in a nutshell, you want us all to vote ukip so they can abolish the dcpc, thereby letting you back into a job which, reading your posts, you don’t seem to like very much. Relax, ukip won’t be getting anywhere near enough seats to make a difference anywhere, thereby forcing you to carry on outside the industry or do the dcpc. Either way whatever happens at places like aldi or lidl won’t affect you, unless you get a job as a barrier tech there of course. No dcpc required.

Good to see your not still bitter & twisted, is that you you’re describing, early retired pretending to be a driver? How’s that anti dcpc stance working out for you?
I haven’t worked for £7 ph for about 15 years now, and yes I’m still driving daily and no I don’t come on here pretending, unlike some.
I would be disappointed if my kids ended up working in McDs, they are both in their 30s working in a solicitors office.
With regards to ukip now the microscope is on the during this election they are being shown up for what they are, a one trick pony with a one man band on its back. The public are not as dumb as you seem to think, and definitely not as dumb as some on here, even Lord Nigel isn’t a shoe in for his “safe” seat anymore, not surprising given his poor showing in the TV debates. they will pick up votes from the xenophobes like yourself but nowhere near enough to make any difference, I did hear one candidate say they expect to get lots of second places! Which is as much use as your stance against the dcpc, and we all know how that turned out.

Where is “up here” exactly? I live in Newcastle, apart from time in the Army I always have. Well off middle class! You have zero idea about my circumstances but feel free to take some more wild assed guesses. You come across as a full time “glass half empty” type of person, always looking over your shoulder for the bogey man. I’ve never bothered worrying about any foreign people coming & taking my job because I do it well, it’s as simple as that really. The immigrants are here & they aren’t going to go away so you might as well get used to it, if one can do your job better than you then you should be looking at yourself I think.
As for the dcpc costing me money you’re wrong, again, my pay has gone up because of it, good firms want to keep good staff & are willing to pay extra for them. You wouldn’t know this as you’re busy wallowing in your own misery. Did all the drivers at your former workplace pack in to back you up? Look after myself, of course I do, we all do. Who were you looking after when you were making enough to put yourself on the dole, while making a futile stand against the dcpc?

i think it says it all my friend people are getting fed up with bolox and are now ready to call a spade a spade
if we have an austriain style policy and close our doors we might get back to earning decent money again
15 years ago i was on £7.25 per hour, i got time and half after 8 hours, time and half saturday and double bubble sundays i used to earn £ 700 plus a week
compare that to todays money ? most guys end up on salary pay these days or get a single rate for weekend work or how ever else companys find ways to pay the driver the fact is the money just hasnt gone up in all those years
if anything some drivers earn less
i did well years ago because i did the hours mate i worked the weekends and made sure i got 15 hours a day in over the weekends it all adds up and the job was a much better job were drivers were real drivers, they got around the country without sat navs and had a much harder job back then
but anyway it was a much better job back then either that or i am just an old dinosaur living in history rather than todays world
you can not even smoke in the cabs anymore let alone ■■■■ in one without some snot nosed driver running in the office to report on you
