The speed limit has been reduced because of the hazard ahead that is all, just cos the speed limit has been made lower it does not change it from a dual carriageway. Same as on sections of the motorway there are speed limits for safety reasons, it is still a motorway, it doesnt become an A road because of a 40mph limit.

It is not a Dual carriageway so its 40, with regard to the speed limit sign that reads 50, the signs say 70 on a motorway but we can’t do it. Come on guy’s get a grip.I can assure everyone IT IS A DUAL - if I am wrong then I’ll rip up my licence and never drive again - is that enough convincing

Q5 -
Traffic lights control traffic at a crossroad box junction & there are no LGV restrictions in any directionThe road ahead remains clear at all times
The road to the right of a box junction has standing traffic but there is enough room for an artic to join behind without causing a problem
An artic sits in the middle of a box junction waiting to turn right and is only prevented from turning by the oncoming traffic.
4 of the approaching cars turn left and fill up the space that the artic was going to use.
The right turn is now blocked and the lights are changing for the left & right traffic to proceed but the artic is now preventing them from doing so.
What should the artic driver do now
hang off his horn and wait for somone to have a go then get out and smash thier face in, then brew up and await the response of the coppers (about 10 minutes so the brew come inhandy to while away the time).
seriously, you should just sit there until the road is clear for you to continue. you were in the right as they exit was empty when you started, the offence is entering a hatched area with no space to exit not stopping on a hatched area (or words to that effect)

Any alternative plan of action
go straight ahead after indicating left and carry on to the next available ‘safe place’ to turn around (ie next RA) and come back on yourself and turn left!

Explain to me how it can possibly be a dual when there is only one lane going each way…Boy I would like to be at that show to see you eat your licence…

Please explain why you think it is not a Dual carriageway when everyone can see from the images posted it clearly is.

It’s already been pointed out more than once that this is not how dual carriageways are defined.
I know the road well, and even if I was looking at the photo for the first time there is only one lane in each direction…Doh…
I always thought DUAL meant two ?
one way of looking at it is this (as explained by my car driving instructor many moons ago
single carraigeway = does not refer to directions or number of lanes, it means there is only one road surface that goes from one kerb to another without any form of break in the material of the surface of the road
dual carraigeway - two seperate pieces of tarmc/concrete with some form of break inbetween, be it tress, barriers or a little strip of concrete
there fore it is a dual carraigeway

yes it does, two roads side by side, not lanes! in effect motorways are dual carraigeways but we refer to them as motorways by the M prefix of the indentifying number!

Spot on
- saves blocking the junction.
This is the strange thing - It would be LEGAL to wait there regarding the box law BUT the driver leaves themselves open to an ‘obstruction’ charge as they did have an alternative safe option - fun aint it

Bloody hell sense at last, I rest my case…

Then you should have contested it as it is wrong.
The law is wrong ■■ ah well thats a first…No one took my bet did they…
