Inquest.

Good luck Rob

best of luck rob

Basically the Inquest is just like Court Rob, with the exception that the Coroner just wants to establish the facts, it’s informal (Or at least it was when I had to attend one) He simply asks what happened and you just give your side of the story similar to your statement to the police, the coroner then questions any other parties involved such as the police officer who attended, if prior investigation shows that there was a medical problem with the deceased then a doctor or the doctors report is heard and then the Coroner makes his decision on whether it was Natural, Accidental, Suicide or an Open verdict if blame cannot be apportioned.

The Coroner is not like a judge and he’ll tell you to put yourself at ease before giving evidence

Good luck!

Hey Rob. Although i’ve never dealt with an inquest you know of my experiences. I honestly think you’ve nothing to worry about although i appreciate how difficult it must be for you. Hope it all goes as well as these things can. Take care.

‘… I have one thing that really bothers me,and that was my own behavior at the scene. I was very outspoken and unsympathetic. Angry infact. Still not sure if i should feel ashamed or justified …’

Don’t let it bother you, matey. You had every right to purge your immediate emotion at the time because you’re human. Presenting an honest response under such circumstances is laudable since I understand that it prevents going nuts later on.

Mindful of that and maintaining your objective approach after the compulsory period of reflection that you’ve had & you’ll tiddle it. God bless ya’s.

Thanks to all of you. My insurance company have insisted on sending a barrester so thats probably not a bad thing. The other lorry drivers employer has kindly offered to have my lorry parked in his yard and drive us both to the courts. So i think thats most things covered. I don’t log into Tnet during the week much, but i will make the effort to on Wednesday evening, maybe just for a few words.

Thank you.

All the best with it Rob, it’s not going to be a nice experience I wouldn’t imagine, but once it is done like other have said maybe it will bring closure on the matter and you can start going about life not forgetting about, because I doubt that will happen, but maybe it will go to the back of your head as a open and closed part of your life which you don’t need to worry or think about as an unresolved point any more.

You’re a good man, a very good man who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and have had to deal with all the strains and stresses from someone else’s actions, and done a bloody good job of getting through it I believe

Hats off to you fella and good luck once again with it.

Like everyone else has said Rob , good luck with it all , once its done hopefully you will be able to get some closure and try to get things back to some sort of normality .

Which is probably why he said he’ll come on in the evening

Rob may want to pass on news of the day to those who offered support and help through the course of what went on and doing so may be part of the ‘putting it to bed’ process for him

Good luck mate
