And as to “predictions”, what are we discussing?
The possible scenarios if different courses of action are taken?
The possible figures, given by doctors and epidemiologists? Or the inflated headlines given by rags to make sales, and which never were accurate. Those figures which are misrepresented in those same rags today?

In your own, personal, experience, would you say that the impact of Covid-19 has matched that which has been predicted from the outset? Do you personally know dozens of healthy people who have died from it, for example?Fair question.
No I don`t.
But to try to put that in context, why would I ? .
Why would I ■■
Simple answer is you would expect to do judging by the drastic actions of virtual oppression, and the making civil liberties a crime by the Government.
Action more appropriate if we were stacking up and burning bodies on the street because of it…, instead of dealing with a bad case of (whether you like it or not) flu like symptoms that many people are surviving.
Time for a severe reality check Franglais,.and to stop swallowing all the b/s.
It is a shame that SAGE and the Government don’t have the quality/experience/qualifications of your average truck driver on the internet. Then they would realise how silly they all are. It’s a pity they cannot afford to employ the genius’ on here.
Either that or they know a bit more than us and are doing what they think is best.
I wouldn’t take advice/critism from Chris Whitty on reversing an artic. And I wouldn’t give him advice on virology or public health matters.
You are lorry drivers. Stay in your lane and do as you are told. Then we might get back to the old normal and move past this pandemic.

There are other forums where you can have decent discussion from people who realise the seriousness of this virus.Read this.
Swiss Policy Research (SPR) (before mid-May 2020, Swiss Propaganda Research)
Says it all really… Except:
The site has been criticised for spreading conspiracy theories, especially relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Christoph Neuberger, a professor at the Free University of Berlin, SPR is a source of pseudoscientific misinformation. The site has been categorized as a tool of propaganda.

I have a question about refrigeration and I’m thinking you might be able to help?

I know a very small amount about that discipline. About the same as I know about virology.
Feel free to send me a message though - and I’ll do my best to help. The last time we spoke it was on FB about a job in Hams Hall for Sainsburys.

Oh gosh, that’s a blast from the past, hope all is ok with you.
#Franglais…
I’m assuming by you highlighting parts of my post that you refute it.
How tf can you do that.when we ain’t allowed to visit our family, our mates or enjoy a pint in your local pub, go to a football game, cinema, cafe or restaurant, or in fact open one without getting a heavy fine rammed up yer arse.
Now I may be wrong, but I’m sure the Govt implemented all this crap,…so pray do tell me how I am wrong on this.
Time for a severe reality check Franglais,.and to stop swallowing all the b/s.
A simple question for you rob, Why are there so many (mostly intelligent) people all round the world feeding eveyone b/s ?
Give me one good reason?

I can’t answer that Jake.
What I see with my own eyes does not correlate with what we are being FORCED into doing.
Maybe it’s worse for me as I have never liked being TOLD what to do when I think it’s unreasonable.
So I can’t answer that question.
Just dragging it back on topic (sorry!) to more impact on job related stuff… got an email from the CEO saying that some people may get furloughed again if the need arises but not to worry about job security as there’s no redundancies to be made.
Of course I dont trust one word of it, but to nail colours to the mast like that is fair enough.
As things stand currently we’re mental busy though.
The media doesn’t help. I mean in the US they went with aerial footage of Hart Island, with mass graves being dug. Turns out folks without relatives are put in mass graves there all the time and they didn’t actually start burying extra Covid-19 fatalities there at all.

I like that, at least you give a straight answer. As for never like being told what to do! You sound just like my wife.

Fair comment.
What the media reports is too often a misunderstanding or exaggeration of what is being said by Medics. The conspiracy theorists then jump on bad news reporting, alleging that was the Medic speaking.
And similarly if a Medic says “x will die if we don’t do y”, we do “y” and the idiots say “Medics prediction of x death is wrong”.
Misrepresentation, all round. We have some quality press left, plus a lot of rags, interesting in clicks for cash, not truth.
@Franglais.
Still waiting for you to explain where I am wrong in what I said about the heavy handedness of how this stuff is being dealt with,.and how they are keeping us in our place in an almost Orwellian way.
While you are coming up with something to refute it,.I’ll try and put up the link of the guy in Manchester who was actually fined for…wait for it.
Calling in at his mates for a cup of tea.
As I said oppressive measures and taking away civil liberties…
I can answer that one rob. He broke the rules plain and simple then lied to cover up. What if he or his mate had the virus and ended up spreading it to a vulnerable person and many more?
These rules are there for a purpose and that is to stop this highly contagious virus spreading and causing hospitals to be overrun which then leads to others not being able to be treated in time.
I am sure anyone who is waiting for treatment for the likes of cancer etc is absolutely disgusted with these selfish rule breakers.
From what I heard today England will still have about the same number of cases after this lockdown as when it went in so it may well continue. On the bright side there may be a vaccine ready before
Xmas which will be available for vulnerable people and health and care workers.

A virus so highly contagious that you need a test to know if you’ve got it.
Another hysterical bed-wetter.
